The company I work for and others locally (Krabi) are having problems getting multi-entry B visas, we all have legal WP's, pay all the taxes, etc and when we go to get the visa( so far at Penang+KL) we are only given a 3month single entry as our WP is only valid for 3 months, (because we have to leave and return and re-apply for WP extension)and we are told to goto local immigration for an extension. When we goto immigration they will not extend as they say we have the incorrect WP. We checked the Government website and we have all the correct documents to apply for the multi-entry but no-one seems willing to give it,

so does anyone know where we can go to get a multi at this time?

Your problem could be the work period in your Work Permit, it's at the bottom left of page 5 and needs to be 1 year.

The one year period is normally marked in thai as [1 ปื ]

For well over a year now, KL have been refusing to issue 1 year multiple entry non immigrant B visas if the validity period in the work permit was not 1 year.

This has nothing to do with the current WP expiry date, or the fact that your permission to work is locked in to your 90 day entry.

The validity period from many labour departments used to be 6 months and KL's 'argument' is that they cannot issue 1 year visas for work if the validity period is only 6 months in the Work Permit.

This particular problem can and should be fixed by a visit to your local labour dept, where on filing out the correct form and producing relevant paperwork from your employer supporting the 1 year validity, they give you an official stamp towards the back of your work permit, indicating that your validity period is changed to 1 year.

The Thai Consulates always tell you to get an extension, they seem to have no idea as to how difficult it is for small companies to successfully apply for an extension on the basis of business in Thailand (Police order 606/2549 Category 7.1).

Another posibility is that if you look at your last Work Permit renewal stamp it may have an extra stamp mark, which may be vertical in a square box reading [ ตัดครบปี ] this means ตัด - seperate, section off, cut ครบปี - full year, whole year.

My thai is not that good, but my guess is that it means end of one year validity period.

I had problems in KL last June and they said my work permit did not have a long enough validity period and they would only give me a 90 day, single entry non immigrant B Visa

I had the above stamp and this may have been the problem.

I went to my local Labour department with supporting paperwork from my employers and they gave me a stamp in the back of my WP indicating that my validity period was 1 year.

I then had no problems getting a 1 year multiple non B in Penang the following September.
