any insight people might have would be gratefully appreciated as i do my research into the area.

My ex lived there. Depends which part of the road you're living on since its pretty long. Some parts are livable and a lot of it is a no-go zone. You've got 2 Central shopping malls - Rama 2 and Rama 3 close by. No international schools on that side of the river. Only real international university is MUIC. You'll probably be the only farang in a 2km radius out there as well. Not sure about property prices but it should be considerably less than what you're paying right now. Also don't expect the same quality of construction unless you're renting a condo on the river in which case explect to pay through the roof. In the good parts you have easy access to the expressway so it can be convinent, but no public transport aside from buses so unless you drive or take taxis everywhere, its probably best to give it a miss.

Really Ekamai and Suksawat aren't that far away and if you drive or taxi should only take 30-45 mins depending on traffic. That's about as close as I would want to be to any potential in-laws!

Hi,

I have stayed out that way on and off over the last 5 years, just in off soi 76.

About 2 years ago the main road was a mess but now they have finished upgrading it there are no problems.

The 2 new bridges are now finished, this cuts your travelling time to the other side of the river. (if the taxi will go the quick short way).

Big "C" seems to be the main meeting place ( lets go to big "C"0 there is an 79Thb all you can eat also.

There are some nice restraunts on the river back near the first bridge.

Hopes this helps a bit.

Regards...aussiep

Suksawat is OK. There is nothing special about it. Lots of factories around. The main advantage is that when the traffic isn't too bad, you can get into town relatively easy from there. I've lived in the area for about 9 years. It took me 3 years to get used to the area--now that it's home, I kind of like it.

There are some schools with good English programs. I know that Sarasas has a bilingual program on Pracha Uthit (not far) and Burana Suksa (also on Pracha Uthit) has an EP.
