Hi All,

My partner and I are in the early planning stages for our wedding at the end of the year. What is the Thai custom for sending out invitations? How early or late are they typically sent out in Thailand?

TIA for helpful replies.

Cheers,

Spee

It's not really different from the West I suppose.. Do what makes sense; I often receive invitations about a month prior to the event, but do what works for you. Obviously if people are coming from far away (overseas, etc) then those people need as much advance notice as possible. But the folks next door can be happily invited a week prior..

My wife sent out the invitations in batches, started about 2 months before the wedding and the final batch was done about a week before the wedding. She opted for a personal delivery as she didn't know the postal addresses of all her friends and family, so we had massive road trips to various towns throughout Isaan... If we didn't have time to cover a specific area, then her brothers handled it for us.
