Restrictions for Students using Internet Games Shops discussed by Education Committee.

On Friday Morning at Pattaya City Hall, Khun Farooq chaired a meeting of the Education Committee. The main issue discussed at the meeting related to Internet Games Shops and how they can potentially affect students and their studies.

Khun Farooq suggested that the numbers of these shops has dramatically increased over the past few years and although local Police do raid these shops on a regular basis to ensure that children are not present after 10pm, he would like to see further restrictions imposed on admitting students who will sometimes fail to attend school and instead spend their time playing online games at these shops.

Khun Farooq proposes that these shops should not allow students to enter their shops between the hours of 8am and 3.30pm, every Monday to Friday, and after this time students should not be allowed in the shops wearing their school uniforms. Police cooperation will be sought to ensure these new regulations which were agreed upon at the meeting will be adhered to.
