Caught on Tape – Motorbike theft, as it happens.

Pattaya One News/Pattaya News Center has received high quality CCTV pictures from a camera positioned outside the offices of a local English Language Newspaper which clearly shows 2 men stealing a motorbike which belongs to a staff member at the Newspaper, Khun Ganyapat who works for their Graphics Department.

We hope that by showing the pictures it will remind all motorbike owners here in Pattaya that it is easy to steal a motorbike if it is not properly secured. One of the two men in the pictures is seen to use a metal rod which is forced into the lock.

The whole process only takes a matter of seconds. The Honda Wave was then driven away by one of the two men and is still missing at the time of compiling this report. We urge all motorbike drivers to place chains through the wheels or use a padlock to prevent the bike from being taken away.

Police are in possession of the CCTV images and are now attempting to locate the motorbike at this time.

Note the yam-less car park. Many posters (myself included) like to poke fun at the hapless dozing yams present in little huts in the corner of car parks. However this brazen larceny might have been prevented if Khun Yam had been around.
