He didn't top himself. You have no respect.

And pampal, would you really want to watch one of the biggest movies of all time on a DVD rip? Pathetic.

Everyone else loves this movie, so something must be wrong with me as I way yawning half way through. I enjoyed the first Batman movie with Keaton and Nicholson, and Batman Begins kept me interested, but I lost interest in this one after an hour. Maybe it was the midnight showing that did me in.

That was by far the worst Batman EVER! It made the one with Arnie look like a <deleted>' Oscar film... when my gf asked me, "what the frick is going on?". I couldn't answer because I was so confused and it had nothing to do with the Thai subtitle conversion. They made two Batman's into one and raced to the end just to finish a horrible plot. Two big thumbs up for the acting of Ledger. Should have bought the bootleg 5 in 1 on the street... :o

You must have been confused by your hot girlfriend sitting next to you. It was completely understandable to me. Not hard at all to follow. Just takes concentration and brains. Great movie.

Even if you didn't like the plot, saying you should have bought the bootleg is blasphemy for a film as visually engaging as this one. You can't replace the cinematic experience for a movie with stunts and visuals like this. But then, I'm a film purist and the best place to watch a good film is the place a film is ultimately made for, a cinema.

Ya, you are right about one thing, my gf is hot... Visually engaging? Wow! I must have not only been confused but also sleeping. There is a reason why people make and buy bootlegs... overpriced crappy American movies. This one is no exception. Bringing back a movie that was already made and with the same characters :o . I think Hollywood ran out of ideas for 'great movies' about 10 years ago. But then, I'm not a film purist and I don't go to theatres just so I can feel good about myself even if the movie sucked.

Actually, every movie has the same price of ticket, yes? And it's quite cheap to go to the cinema in Bangkok. If Hollywood movies are so crappy what would be the point of buying them on bootleg? Not much, really. By visually engaging I meant some of the stunts and the set of the film. The set was absolutely fantastic. And the lighting theme was not too overly dark like the Burton films but had a better balance. Good cinematography as well.

This one is no exception. Bringing back a movie that was already made and with the same characters :o . I think Hollywood ran out of ideas for 'great movies' about 10 years ago.

This movie was completely different than the one with Jack Nicholson. They felt the last Batman franchise ran out of steam so they started all over. If you're not a big Batman fan, you may not see the need and/or not care. It's actually a genre film which just so happens to be headed to be the highest grossing film of all time. There are a lot of crappy films these days, but I don't think this was one of them. Not the greatest film ever, but still quite good.

But then, I'm not a film purist and I don't go to theatres just so I can feel good about myself even if the movie sucked.

Enjoying a movie is a subjective thing. However, Hollywood knows what will sell to the majority and I this one certainly did. Probably inflated due to the story of Heath Ledger as well. Oh, and I don't go to cinemas to fell good about myself if the movie sucked, but I can see you feel great about yourself and your opinion. Get over yourself and get a life. You didn't have to like the film but you should recognize it was well made in all aspects save plot, which I admit (plot is rarely going to be great in a comic hero film, but I love Batman so it doesn't bother me. It's more about the theme, stunts, etc. Fans of Batman will mostly love the sonar stunt near the end while others may think it's queer). However, the plot was actually quite easy to follow, so perhaps you were tired or just didn't care.

And if you like Heath Ledger's performance, the best place to enjoy it is clearly on the big screen with superior sound and screen, which cannot compare to your living room.

I just think with the large numbers going to this film, not everyone is going to like it, especially those not fans of the genre or story of Batman. The smart filmgoer realizes he/she may not like a film, but unless it is absolutely horrendous recognizes the reasons why others would.

Great movie....How was the IMAX show?

Not a great movie, I join the chorus of the bored.

The IMAX show was curious. Some scenes were the full IMAX frame and others letterboxed.

No, don't worry, you're not alone. I was looking for reviews earlier today and there are quite a few that describe it as pretty unimpressive, really. Many people claiming that the high ratings (9.5 at the IMDB site, for example) are not deserved.

I'm a bit curious and will decide upon my own rating when I eventually see it (on DVD -- real DVD, not some crappy Pantip cam version).

To avoid wasting more of my hard earned cash to a bunch of overpayed, whiny Hollywood wanke_rs and put the money into the hands of the real workers... bootleggers on the streets of Bkk :D .

This movie was completely different than the one with Jack Nicholson.

Both films had the Joker, who was crazy and wanted to kill the Batman. Yep, completely different :o

It's actually a genre film which just so happens to be headed to be the highest grossing film of all time.

So since the film makes a lot of money, that makes it good? :D

Get over yourself and get a life.

Sniff, sniff... that one hurts :(

...but I love Batman so it doesn't bother me.

And I need to get a life? :D

Hey, how do you know how good my living room is? :D

I just think with the large numbers going to this film, not everyone is going to like it, especially those not fans of the genre or story of Batman.

So if someone says the movie sucked, like myself, that means they don't know the 'genre or story of Batman'?

Smart filmgoer? It's <deleted>' Batman?? Kids under 4 go and see it! And I am a kid when I watch Batman! :D

IMHO, it was a bad show 'PERIOD' (aka: end of story)

I see you were just responding to what I said trying to be clever so I don't think every statement warrants a response. Yes, so you didn't like the movie. I also see you just like to be right meaning you see your opinion as more important than others. The point is, you have to recognize there is some quality in the film making, otherwise it wouldn't be the highest grossing film of all time (possibly). I know you're just joking around but I don't think any living room can compare to a cinema unless you have a mini-cinema in your living room with an original reel. I don't really care if you didn't like the movie but what I meant was that being a film purist the best way to see a film like this is in the cinema, and I don't see how you could really argue with that. Your strange suggestion that being a film purist means I go to see sucky films to feel better about myself was unwelcome and wrong. I hate it if I've spent money on a film that sucks, but I don't think this one did. That doesn't make me right, and you wrong or vice versa. It merely means I liked it and you didn't.

Also, I wouldn't take a kid under 4 to this film. If I was a parent, I would not take the unless they were around 12 or 13. Batman movies are too dark and violent for young kids in my opinion.

It wasn't a bad show "period" in your opinion, because you liked at least one performance.

No, I said if you're not a "fan" of Batman you may not like it as much as fans, which is pretty obvious. With large numbers going to the film, many of them not fans of the genre or Batman, there will naturally be some that aren't too wild about it. And there are probably some that aren't necessarily fans of Batman that will like the film as well.

I told you get a life because of your arrogant tone. Of course, the very general story of Joker and Batman was the same. But I think a smarty-pants like you could see that having Joker in this film was about the only thing connecting it to the previous one with Joker. The plot, scenes, and all other details were completely different (beyond Joker wanting to kill Batman).

Hmm, I'm sure you wouldn't mind being one of those overpayed, whiny Hollywood wanke_rs.

Goodbye.

I saw The Dark Knight a week ago. One of the best Superhero movies ever made. This movie is best seen in the Cinema. Why waste money on bootleg with crappy audio and picture when you see it in the cinema for good price.

Exactly, Joe1241. On a box office note, it's already above $300 million in 10 days and whatever the exact figure is it broke the 10 day record. For a movie that cost $180 million to make, it's bringing a nice profit.

i found the batman movies made by christopher nolan (batman begins 2005) and this dark knight the best... not the usual action hero stuffs.. it appealed to me.. but not ones you take kids to watch.. they wont get it.
