His troops were back to rationing shells for their canons — the first time since US aid to Ukraine was held up by Congress — because ammunition had been reallocated for the incursion into Russia’s Kursk region. Ukraine has also moved upwards of 10,000 troops, including many of its elite airborne forces and mechanised brigades, from Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, where the fiercest battles are under way, according to officials involved with the operation. Ukraine's position appears increasingly desperate and more and more commentators are starting to question the logic and practicalities of the Kursk incursion. Here's one from the distinquished Finnish pro-Ukraine academic taking issue with Tendar. Ukraine's public claims about territorial control in the Kursk region seem inflated when compared to the actual size of the settlements.Claiming to control 82 cities and villages in an area which has only one city of 6.000 (Sudzha) is internal PR. Coupled with recent troop redeployments, this raises questions about the progress of the eastern front.The overall outlook for Ukraine is grim. Economic challenges, including a substantial budget deficit, energy crisis, and declining GDP, are compounded by military setbacks. Shortages of essential supplies and decreasing Western support further exacerbate the situation. Given these factors, it is questionable whether Ukraine can sustain its current strategy. Ukrainian soldiers on the ground inside Russia say they are already beginning to see a different level of resistance. Losses are increasing. The Russians have reinforced with better trained units, including marines and special forces. They had studied the area. This belated Russian response to the incursion in Kursk has forced it to divert some troops from strangleholds inside Ukraine in the Donbas. Reflecting this, a Ukrainian government source says military activity in the Donbas has significantly decreased since August 16th. However there is a big exception: Pokrovsk, the town where Russia was making steady advances before the incursion and where it is seeking to maintain heavy pressure on Ukraine. -

You are equating "not being able to afford a visa run" with happily being ripped-off by kleptocrats, as part of the package. I assume you mean annual-extensions, rather than "visas" - where the choice is often "rigamarole" or "pay the agent." Same, same. Exapts fund jobs here with every foreign-currency spend they make - and pay VAT taxes, as well. As to employers and employees in Thailand, have you heard of the BOI? I previously worked at a BOI company, where a significant portion of staff was foreigners with needed expertise in business-roles. I would re-consider your anti-Thailand attitude - pushing for expats to leave and support Cambodia and Laos, instead, which would result in unemployment for multiple Thais per expat pushed away. The MFA understands this, which is why they have made changes, recently. Only Immigration has a problem with it, as it reduced agent-income. And, if you have lived in many of those areas, as I have, you know that there is considerable poverty in many of them. This situation is alleviated by those born in them being able to work in better-paying jobs, which are funded by foreigners. That's why so many are found working in foreigner hot-spots - and why they HATED the "crack downs" on "too long tourists" more than anyone else. They would not leave their families to work in those areas without a financial-incentive, and we are that incentive. With the decline in factory-jobs, this is even more critical now. Please stop discouraging foreigners from helping them by spending our money here, and turning a blind-eye to the corruption-abuse which drives many away. -

How about a solar car port on a budget?
Pretty happy at present, they have some nice functionality like being able to AC-couple grid-tie inverters on the "Gen" terminals. If you have more than one inverter paralleled each can have its own Gen settings, so one can be AC-coupled whilst another is actually a generator or a Smart-Load (not tried this yet). There are, as always, a few quirks with the initial setup and the online application, but that's what internet forums are for 🙂 LVtopsun do a re-branded version with different firmware for slightly less $$$ but I've not tried these. We currently have 20kWP of panels which makes us waaay over-paneled for our normal weekday load so our batteries are full mid-afternoon even on overcast days. When the grandkids are here at the weekend all bets are off!! -
