Letter from Bangkok bank.

New wording to me maybe wrong!!. Myself and my wife have a fixed deposit account.

It states on the letter from the bank she is my sponsor.

Never seen that befor.

Also it converts the amount into English pounds not seen befor.

Is this just me or maybe I am reading to much into it.

Maybe it is because I changed the account to require two people to sign to withdraw money.

Any Comment most appeciated.

Have no experience with that type of account but never had such a statement on normal joint account letters before (but did not obtain this year).

I suspect your talking about a family extension of stay based on the old 400k in bank account? I have no idea why they would convert currency (unless you have been bringing in UK Pounds perhaps?).

Thanks for the respose I expect new person in Bangkok.

Will find out on 23 of this month when I go for extension.

Lopburi3 you are without doubt a fountain of knowledge.

I have a 5 year old Thai son do you think it is worth me changing my reason for extension.

Money is not plentifull but not in short supply.

I am over 50 years old. I do not get any pensions for the next 5 years.

But have considerable funds here and in England.

If you have the funds and a history and can afford it I would just continue (especially as it is not available to new applicants). We never know if a provision such as the child/parent over age 50 will continue so always good to have alternate plans.
