I would say your odds are sketchy at best. You're only out the meds if "homeland security" opens the package. In fact your friend will receive the empty box with a 3X5 paper note stating the contents violated the packaging and or dispensing laws of meds in the US.

I've sent meds back to the US MANY times since I've lived here,(usually B/P or cholesterol control). Some get thru, some don't, and I can't see there's a definite rhyme or reason to why.

That being said, the ones which were in boxes which also included some bullshit thai souvenirs got thru more often than mailing the meds only in a padded envelope.

I have had no problems sending meds or bringing them with me as long as it was not over 30 day supply. I was recieving regular shippments out of mexico for a while mostly antibiotics. Never had any conficated. have fun.

Fairly sure she's looking for at least 1 year supply, don't know about these things, but I'm thinking she's thinking 4-5 year supply which makes me want to ask, do they expire? Is there a time warp limit?

in the US you have to go to a doctor and pay for a prescription for birth control- very expensive if you don't have insurance!

They do expire, my box says its good for about 3 years. Birth control is expensive in the US and as Kat explains is not given without a prescription which requires a doctors visit. Planned Parenthood is cheaper than a regular drs office but the meds are still way more than Thailand.

When my wife first came to the US we did have her sister send BC pills. She also sent Tiffy a cold pill/ medicine & also some herbal meds.

Reason as stated by others was the lack of medical & the need for a script & exam.

But as soon as we had her setup on medical we went in & got a prescription here.

Actually glad we did because when the OB saw what she was taking he mentioned he had quite a few clients that had problems with that brand.

So I would say it should not be a problem to send some to your friend to tie her over. Ours was just sent in a brown envelope ( large ) & was opened by US customs. (they put a sticker on the obviously opened package to say they searched it) They let it come through so should be no problem.

Use their address as the return address.

Then no come_back. Not on you anyway

you decide, but if sending large quantity of pills is a problem, just send one and ask her to hold it tightly between the knees....
