Never heard of ferries?

Good lord! 13 weeks of bus travel sounds like an extended vacation from h*ll.

I think they'd have to offer me the 9250 Aussie dollars to do this rather than charge me that price (and I still wouldn't do it).

I sure hope their "bus" floats!

Ferrying a bus between Indonesia and Darwin would be a scary thought. Glad the itenary says its a short flight instead but knowing Indonesian planes, I'm not sure if this is very comforting either.

Sounds like a fun trip though and definitely worth looking into if you've got a spare 3 months.

Not included : Visas.

£3800 and 13 weeks, adventure it might be but I'll stick with flying thanks.

btw this would be interesting info for the guy who wanted to drive from London to Thailand. He posted a thread a week or so back.

East Timor hasn't been part of Indonesia for some years and I'm fairly sure Indon planes arn't used on that route.

The alternatives may be just as worrying.

No thanks

not for me

Sounds like fun !

Must be BS. Their route shows them going through Burma(Myanmar) and/or Bangladesh neither of which is possible by road.

Just a thought....it would be a great trip though

Even if it do-able, who in their right mind would want to spend that much time on a bus??? :o

Even if I would be that crazy - and I am occaisionally - not without darn good air con for those desert trips. I'd rather sail around.

I may have missed something on the cleverly provided link herein, but I still say it is not possible to travel by road from Myanmar to Thailand. I did not see this point on the link or any of the blogs.

Quick to judge, nay sir, just trying to help with a possible pitfall.

Whatever. :o
