SOURCE: Pattaya One News: July 26th 2008

Man arrested at South Pattaya Restaurant for impersonating a Police Officer.

In the early hours of Saturday Morning, Police Colonel Nopadon who was accompanied by Khun Itipon, the Mayor of Pattaya for the night, made their way to the Nong Bow Restaurant located in South Pattaya following reports from the owner that a man was claiming he was a Police Officer and demanded that he be allowed to eat and drink for free.

Police arrived and detained Khun Denchai aged 25 who initially denied allegations of impersonating a Police Officer but soon confessed after witnesses confirmed his wrongdoing. Checks on the arrestee confirmed that he had been previously arrested relating to class 1 drug possession offences.

Khun Denchai was taken to Pattaya Police Station and charged.

So its ok for the other dirty bastards to come in and demand to eat for free because they are police.

In the early hours of Saturday Morning, Police Colonel Nopadon who was accompanied by Khun Itipon, the Mayor of Pattaya for the night...

What the heck does that mean: "the Mayor of Pattaya for the night"?

And, why would the mayor go on a somewhat routine police call ... "in the early hours" of a Saturday Morning"?

I guess he would not have tried it if it was not already normal practice for the theiving BIB to think they can eat / drink for free......wnkrs!!!!!

Yes. And your point is?

It means the Mayor was accompanying the police for the night, kind of hands on experience. I see he was also at a gay bar drugs raid the same night, which also answers your 2nd question.

I am sure the restaurant owner would be very happy if that's all they demanded.

I think the police are the last thing I would want to impersonate!

my point is, the real police can eat and drink for free, but yet that is ok.
