I voted for India - Have been there for periods of 3 months or more 5 times in the last 15 years - Its like a continent within a continent and you either love it or hate it - Thailand is a close second if you require a western lifestyle or luxuries on a budget though although the girls are'nt quite as friendly!

Not listed here is one of my favorite Country, Norway. During my many visit there I have it to be a great country, standard of living wise, climate, cost of living a bit high but in my book it's A ok.

Even though it pains me to say it I feel Canada is a superior version of the U.S. The government isn't actually trying to screw the citizenry over and the people are friendlier in general. Also, large Canadian cities still have that intimate feel to them. Not quite the nameless faceless polluted juggernauts like they exist in the U.S.

Over all Thailand has most of what i'm looking for in a country. It's very easy to live here.

I voted for Singapore but I am not going to list the reasons as some folk on TV get all huffy when I keep going on about how brilliant Singers is.

For me......There is no place better than the good old ….U S of A. So many educated thais want to get out of thailand so bad if they can.

But for some other thais, well just have to say....when you have been living in the monkey house too long, sometimes you just don't know it stinks.

That's pretty contrary to my experiences. I know more educated thais who feel comfortable in Thailand than abroad. Some may go study and or do business abroad but they usually come back to live.

If you look closely, those thais that come back from their oversea study, “most of them” are rich thais (exclude those on the gov‘t scholarships), and many of them have no intention of working or getting work experiences from aboard after the graduation. And why not? Well because the mentality is….why would you want to work at meager wages or sweating for someone else, when you can come back home and become the boss in your daddy’s company.

As for those who are owning a business

Well…if their company is based in Thailand, I would assume ….yea they need to comeback

nobody wants to ad mit coming from UK , never mind praising it, had to visit those dark satanic hills of outback lancashire last year, was real tragic , beggars and homeless everywhere and that was just in the carparks at manchester airport,found europe very depressing and so expensive,I worked in germany and switzerland for over 20 years had great memories but boy oh boy what a shock,I cant say switzerland has gone to the dogs, because the dogs would refuse it!! when we get fed up with our beach house on the sunshine coast,we pack a beg and off we fly to our other Favourite country Thailand!!Nignoy

Other, my choice not on this list was my vote. There are about 30-40 countries I have not given a day in court so until then "Thailand is best'.

So, the "winners" are Thailand. Canada, USA, and France. Not too surprising. What is surprising is that only 20 percent or so needed to pick not on the list.

Well, I ain't a Canuck but Vancouver British Columbia doesn't get very cold, and it is a fantastic city and region. Also Canada is an immigrant magnet so if you don't like native Canadians, you get most everyone else. Wonderful, civilized country except for that hockey mania thing. BTW, I would rather be dead than be in a Thai prison.

Well lets see for LIVING as a EXPAT, so far I love Thailand the best. HOWEVER, if we are talking about what nationality you would prefer to have if not your own. then Kuwait or UAE hands down. Their govt takes seriously good care of them. AND no evil azz taxes. (PS these reflect my choices as a MAN, if I was a woman I would probably choose different countries)
