lordofdelusion Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 My mom passed away yesterday. You won't find that out in any newspaper or on TV. She wasn't famous, but she was a mom and that makes her a superstar. I've been thinking a lot about how she took care of me and my sisters and sacrificed plenty for her family. She was a working mom but never failed to come home and put a big dinner on the table. Holidays were always an incredible feast of food and goodies. We weren,t rich but I never remember feeling neglected or deprived . When I look at my wife now and her tireless devotion to our daughter, I think there is something special about being a mom that even we loving fathers will never be able to match. So in memory of my mom, I would like to say a big thanks to moms everywhere. You have no idea how much you mean to your kids.
Goldenbead Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 My condolences on your mother's passing and as a mother myself, thank you for your kind words.
Boo Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I am so sorry lordofdelusion about your mums passing. I have tears from reading this. I too was raised by a working (single) mum who to this day still helps me & my sis in more ways than we deserve. As a mum I now know why she does & hope to be able to be the same kind of mum to my son as my mum was (is) to me. My thoughts are with you & remember, she will never really gone if you think about her everyday & remember her through your daughter too.
soihok Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I am sorry for the loss of your Mum. My sentiments echo what Boo has to say. I was also raised by a single Mum , after my Dad left her along with myself and my two younger brothers. I really dread the day that I get the same experience,, so,, every day she is here with us is a blessing.
paulfr Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Thank you for the very nice thought for this day and any other day. And may the Good Lord bless all parents of selfless devotion. Cheers
