I have eating to much Thai Chilli lately.

So now I'm trying to grow some other spices.

Jalapenos, Habaneros, Hungarian vax and the infamous Naga Morich. :o

So far only the jalapenos have come up a little bit and some Habaneros.

Naga Morich has not germinated at all and my Hungarian vax is dying.

Have any tips, I use fertilizer once a week and water everyday.

To much sun?

To much water.

Live on Koh Samui and have the plants in my backyard.

I am in no way an expert, but from my experience yes to both. We moved all our chilli plants from full sun to partial shade, and they are alot healthier now, plus I don't water them every day now and they seem better for it.

We have a mixture of seedlings and larger plants, and several of the seedlings looked scorched when they died, so it was just guess work, but seemed to do the trick.

Hi,

Check this out:

laerning while doing, basically, some of the local stuff seems just to grow with a minimum of attention, tried herbs and other stuff, seems to be the climate..humidity intense sun, drought, monsoon rains..when cultivating, non local stuff... seems to be more difficult.

My wife told me to never water when the sun is up.

Is this superstitious are there any bearing on this.

You should never water the plants' foliage in full sun as it burns the leaves.

Similarly, the plants' roots need the full effect of water and much of the water will evaporate quickly in full sun, therefore depriving the plant of a deep drink. Much better to water in early mornings or evenings.

All the plants died.

I send the rest of the seeds to father ion law in Chiang Mai.

Hopefully the climate is better these chillies.
