As far as I know, the King can only get in action if the Prime minister or some other high ranked Member of the Arm Forces or Government asking the Hing for to take the power for to solve otherwise uncureable problem in Thailand. He can't dismiss the prime minister pp. if he isn't back in power.

There was been for sure an misinterpretation of the speech on the TV Channel.

Nope - HM can (and has done so in the past) stepped in (and by past PM's ) to resolve issues.......

On a slightly different note, indeed Thaksins fall from power was in no small measure on the nod from HM to the General's (hence all the yellow bands on troops walking around BKK at the time - so that there was no mistake where their loyalty was, just in case.....)

.... and remember how he humiliated Suchinda on Thai TV in 1992 (ordering him very bluntly in Thai to kneel before him).

My info is that Samak has not being given the boot by His Majesty - but don't be suprized if just that comes to pass, as His Majesty has little time Thaksin politics

In a manner of speaking that's true. It's a slow motion firing.

The King has appealed to the judges of various courts to "do your job or Thailand will cease to exist" (close paraphrase). Judicial actions of late would tend to bear out that the judges are doing their job. That is, with respect to anyone associated with Thaksin, past or present, which includes Samak. Since you can't turn a corner here or visit an institution which isn't bent, wherever they coose to focus their attention will result in heads rolling. What remains to be seen, after the Thaksin/Samak/TRT/PPP cases play out, is if they will turn their attention to every other crooked politician with the same enthusiasm and ethical standards. I wouldn't bet on it.

As several comments are an infraction of...

Forum Rules

Discussion of topics concerning the King or other current or deceased members of the Thai Royal Family is forbidden.

and until substantiation of the OP can be made (which, if true, would have certainly been widely reported from yesterday), might I suggest we suspend this topic?

Until now there isn't anything in disregard to the royal Family or His Majesty. Also the OP isn't about the Royal House and family in complete.

But as the speculation about the dismiss of Mr. Samak isn't proved in any way, I'll close this thread now.
