Hi everyone,

Need help to find a good mechanic for this model.

I have got the "Hammer" so testing is no problem.

I have been in contact with AAS Bangkok, but they

mainly change parts instead of repairing i.e. expensive

Best regards,

I doubt you could find a "qualified" mechanic for this car, and given the rarity factor, chances are no given mechanic would have messed with it enough to have "gained" the experience. I've been considering importing a 928 recently too, so if you DO find a good mechanic it'd be great news to hear. lets hope someone can help.

btw, roughly how much do you spend on the 928 yearly for maintenance? if you dont mind, which year's model is it?

Another possible garage is Siam 911. I guess they mostly deal with 911s, but I passed there today and saw a 928 parked there.

I need some 928 parts, anyone any idea? flywhee flex plate and coupling, and nearside drive shaft.

Anyone seen a 928 being broken anywhere?

Siam911 will probably be able to help, Khun Wat is the man, call him on 0840993283

He will also be able to find parts from s'pore or elsewhere.

Alternative would be Cavalino on the road between Rama9 and Petchburi Road called Phet Uthai Rd.

is this what you need,.? 167311227_tp.jpg

Ive had 2 of these over the years, superb when they are going right, but i must have had almost everything go wrong,. went back to a skyline gtr and had no problems, but the porsche has got something about it, ( when its right )

I read an article of this guy who got so fed up with his 928 engine that he swapped the engine for a Toyota V-8 instead. Still a 928 but with easier to maintain engine. Nice!

where in town are you OP?

I saw a 928 at my gym tonight, red. Lic plate xx-928. Yours?

It seemed as it was Porsche day at the gym: red 928, old dark blue 911, red 911 GT2, and a yellow Boxster S, all within 20 metres of each other...

Hi Tom. not a lot of options open to ya!

http:\\ :o www.928spares.com/ may be your only hope unless there is a breakers yard in Singapore or Honkas.

Hi everyone

It seems that there is quite some interest for the 928.

I love and hate the car. It has been my daily driver for 5 years

(94 GTS) and a lot of things has gone wrong, but been fixed.

Thanks for the tips about Cavalino.

Khun Wat at Siam 911 i know very well and he is a very capable man when it comes to mechanics

and has helped me a lot.

More difficult to find someone who is good at fixing the little gremlins......

A lot of stuff you can find out yourself at rennlist.com where there is a special section for 928.

Finding parts is easy, if buying from the US.

There are also wrecks around or actually "half" cars imported from japan as parts

Finally watch out for the dreaded TBF.

Enjoy the ride!

Tom

Hi Tom,

I am interested in forming a Porsche 928 Club here in Thailand. This is in order to help members find ways to better enjoy their 928. To share experiences about their cars and where they have driven. To share knowledge on how best to maintain their cars. To locate new places for parts and mechanics. To organize track dates, excursions and weekend drives.

Basically to have a large gathering of road going Porsche 928 in Thailand. At present I own two examples, firstly 1979 Porsche 928 and a 1992 GTS. The 928 I have had since1989 and the GTS 2007. Both of these cars have out lives their maker expectations. I have even driven both of these cars to Singapore and back to Bangkok.
