AMLO reports on charges imposed on former Expressway Governor

Anti Money Laundering Office member Mr. Klanarong Chantik revealed that his agency is preparing to report charges imposed upon the former Governor of the Expressway Authority of Thailand, Sukawich Rangsitpol, and 17 accomplices involved in alleged corruption and embezzlement of at least 6.2 Billion Baht during the construction of the Bang Na-Bang Pli expressway.

Mr. Klanarong said that the Anti Money Laundering Office currently possesses insufficient evidence to charge the former Governor's 17 accomplices. Only former Governor Sukawich was indicted and removed from duty and his charges are now being revealed.

AMLO reports on charges imposed on former Expressway Governor

Anti Money Laundering Office member Mr. Klanarong Chantik (กล้านรงค์ จันทิก) reveals that his agency is preparing to report its verdict regarding alleged corruption and embezzlement of at least 6.2 billion baht during the construction of the Bang Na-Bang Pli (ด่วนบางนา-บางพลี) expressway by former Expressway Authority of Thailand Governor Mr. Sukwich Rangsitpol (สุขวิช รังสิตพล) and 17 accomplices.

Mr. Klanarong said that the Anti Money Laundering Officer currently possesses insufficient evidence to charge the former governor's 17 accomplices. Only former Governor Sukwich was indicted and removed from duty and his charges are now being revealed.

Regarding a separate investigation, the AMLO member adds that he has yet to receive reports regarding a request by Senators to indict 3 ministers involved in a government lottery scheme. Mr. Klanarong estimates that the matter will be formally submitted to the Anti Money Laundering Office within one week.

as with the case 2 years ago of the tollway booth attendant sentenced to 40 years imprisonment for stealing the days takings of approximately 10,000 baht , i have every confidence that this case , involving the embezzlement of 6,200,000,000 baht will also be investigated and prosecuted by the authorities in an exemplary fashion and that justice will be served.

next case please.
