I rarely ask these sorts of questions, but I have found myself in a strange position. I am currently on a single entry Non-Immigrant O visa. This visa is based on marriage to a Thai. My stamp indicates that I must leave on August 18. However, I am set to move to Korea with my wife for a while on August 25-27 (sorting out the tickets now). I am aware that I could easily leave the country on a visa run. Having done so many of these in the past, I really don't want to be bothered with it while we are moving stuff from Bangkok to Ratchaburi. Furthermore, I was hoping for a bit of a holiday in the islands before leaving. A visa run would cut into valuable time.

I have read that there is an option of a one-time 30 day extention. I don't want to burn that option if I can prevent it. Any thoughts?

Well, that is fantastic news. You guys have just saved me a lengthy journey to the depths of Poipet. Is there a fee for this extension? I will be off to immigration next week then! Cheers!

...Cheaper than a visa run with Jack Golf!

...and less hassle. If you apply in Bangkok, perhaps avoid Monday, go early, even a little before opening , and you should not have to queue too long. Can’t find Bangkok’s opening hours on their website at the moment:
