Flights To Malta

Featured Replies

I have to go to Malta end of October and not many airlines have service from here...

Lufthansa is ruled out, they are on my personal blacklist. I still would prefer a Star Alliance airline as it collects good points. Egypt Air just joined Star Alliance. Are they any good? I know that they are not a first choice for cargo, but what about PAX?

I also might consider a flight into southern Europe and then with a cheapo airline like Ryan Air for the rest.

Thanks for advise!

Oddly enough, my biz partner is off to Malta for a 2 yr contract and has been scouring the net to find exactly what you are looking for.

I think - and after hours of searching and chuntering away at his computer - that the Middle Eastern Airlines were the way to go, but be prepared for around 19 hours (including transfers) and get ready to part with around 65,000 cattle class.

Cheapest/best (cannot remember) Euro airline was Austrian, and that was way more than 65,000.

Cannot be exact, and I hope this is helpful.

Cheers

Emirates fly to Malta five times a week from Bangkok.

Both travel agents I spoke to also recommended Emirates. Got quoted 55,000 for cattle class and 133,000 for business.

Egypt Air has no flight in the week I have to go there.

Lauda Air flies only on Fridays and Sundays...

I wonder why I cannot book Thai to say Frankfurt and then for Christ sake bleeding Lufthansa for the rest....

/edit: Austrian is routed BKK VIE FRA MAL - the last leg being Lufthansa again...

I'm from Malta. I think the best bet is Emirates. They fly regularly and is the most direct (BKK - Dubai - Malta) not sure if they are star alliance, but if you travel to Malta at least once a year its probably worth cheking their skymiles program.

Dear Raro,

If you have not yet booked, an option for you is to go with AirBerlin to Munich (on some dates you can go for 350 euros o/w) and then book another flight with AirMalta. www.mobissimo.com is a good sight.

Cheers

Why go so far north :o

Thai to Rome from where it's a short hop to Malta :D
