Hi

Just walked around Sri Racha, trying to get a bank account with internet system, and just realized that it's hard to understand all the rules and so on.

Different persons say different rules for std account application.

so.....

If you got a account with e-bank, please inform what was the requirements for you and which bank

Kasikorn Bank:

Valid passport

Cash

Address in Thailand

I think a phone number would help

and of course, your email address if you need online access

That is all. Seriously.

there was a quite detailed recent thread on this topic in this forum (as well as many earlier ones).

use the search function in the top right of this page, select advanced search options, select search thread title only. probably just use the work "bank" and you will find it.

essentially the "rule" (as applied) is whatever in the head of the specific staff member you speak to, on that specific day, in that specific branch.

if you don;t like what you hear, walk to the next one (counter/branch/bank), pull the handle, and take your chances

Despite all seriousness...

SCB

You cannot open a bank account without a Work Permit (tested 2 days ago)

Bangkok Bank

You can not get internet access with your account unless your visa has a validity of 1yr or more, tested 2 days ago. You can open an account, but internet access can not be done. Head office said so.

Kasikorn Bank

They are the easiest, no work permit, no hassles...

Be advised, so you don't waste a week like I did, thanks to stupid advise, from people who don't know the regulation NOW!

Having said this, a great deal of this depends on where you are, every branch seems to have a different story, they are wrong, and when they actually go to do it they will then realize they cant and it ends in frustration on your behalf. I just went straight to the sources. These are the rules.
