BANGKOK, Nov 18 (TNA) – The Senate today unveiled a cartoon book on basic democratic principles to be distributed to primary schools throughout the country.

The book was launched this morning by a number of senators, including Senate Speaker Suchon Chaleekrue, who said that the Senate hoped that the book would lead to greater understanding of democratic forms of government among children and young people.

The cartoon would also boost understanding of the workings of parliament and make children realise the importance of participating in government, he said.

Focusing on five key issues – the Thai Parliament, the Senate, the Constitution, satisfaction for the Thai people, and happiness for Thai children – the book will be distributed to 35,000 primary schools nationwide. (TNA)--E006

Do the kids have to provide a list of assets and a large bank account balance to recive this information? Seems a little pointless oherwise!

I would have thought that secondary education level would be more

appropriate for a subject like this!!
