Many of the longer trains do have a luggage car in which people ship freight, stuff like motorbikes and such. I don't know anything about the procedures involved but what you are suggesting certainly sounds doable.

I just couldnt remember, I did it a lot with a motorbike when I was in India but never did it when I lived in Thailand.

The goods carriage (from my observations) is usually at the 3rd class end of the train. Judging by the scrambles you see at the arriving stations, I think security of your baggage might be a concern. But maybe there is a way of securing your wheelchair.
