Wolfie
Well they are bouncing the servers now, should be up within an hour. The patch is downloading (very slowly) so hopefully this fixes the connection problem!
freitag1
I'm stuck at "Retrieving manifest files"... How big is the patch? Edit: 31mb and it goes slooooooooooow.... anyway I so hope they have fixed the login issue. It was really superbad yesterday and I'm already a bit addicted to the game Edited September 11, 2008 by freitag1

Wolfie
They just changed the ETA to 12:30 - stating "We are taking this opportunity to make a few additional improvements." - something musta gone wrong The News summary with the server status on is found here: http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsOverview.war Edited September 11, 2008 by Wolfie
quiksilva
Yeah Just noticed that I got the patch downloaded and nada but did note that the main entrance has changed a bit and the cinematic button is now clickable but no movie yet. freitag1
Patch notes are online as well (war herald). Maybe they get up before midnight. My current name is Shaisteh. I will mostly play scenarios today. As far as I can tell the login issues are resolved. I had no problem to go to the server selection (but servers were still offline) Edited September 11, 2008 by freitag1
Sabum
Ya it seems easy to log on, what server is everyone on now? Darklands or Ironclaw? Im thinking of starting a new character to try out.
freitag1
Still Darklands but they got another problem now... lets see I give them another 30 min before I go to bed.
Gluestick
Tried to buy the game through Direct2drive but it didn't work. I even tried a proxy. Gonna try to have family get the game throught preorder at the store and stuff in the US. Why can't they just make the game available to everyone in the world? I love the US and all but it gets annoying when they limit stuff to only people living in the US.
Sabum
Its available to Europe as well hehe
daones
the game should be available worldwide at launch from D2D.. Its just that they may only have so many pre order copies (cd keys) available and they save those for americans because I guess they hate the rest of the world. Wolfie
Well today Friday logged on no problem and palying Good to hear that mate, nice to know Mythic are able to identify and fix problems quickly, if this was SOE or FunCom you would have to wait a few weeks
Gluestick
They just opened up the beta to everyone but you'll need a proxy or someone in the US to sign up for you. http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/warhammeronline/ Got my key and activated my account. Just gotta wait for work to end now so I can go home and patch the game. Edited September 12, 2008 by Gluestick
Wolfie
Proxy is easy, there's tonnes of free ones, google for them. Keep in mind that the beta will end Sunday (i estimate early morning) so they can prepare for the head start/release. So unless you already have the client downloaded it might not be worth doing as the fileplanet download was horribly slow when i downloaded it... ... on a side note, I've read on Warhammer Alliance that we will be able to patch the beta client up to the release client - i certainly hope so! freitag1
The game will not be available worldwide from one distribution partner because this would be against the distribution agreement mythic has with GOA (for Europe). Anyway, you should get a US version here from EA Thailand sometime in the future and until then from l27 who get it from Singapore. I think the offgamers.net alternative mentioned in this or one of the other WAR threads sounded really good as well. I'm sure we can patch the beta client Wolfie. I'm not rolling anything new now but reaaally look forward to get started Sunday evening. Let's meet on our Vent server sometime around 7 or so. I bring the beer, you bring the women! :X
dekka007
Beta version will patch up to the main release client - it has to otherwise the headstart would not work as no one has their retail disks until after the release date. Ie after headstart has finished Edited September 12, 2008 by dekka007
Wolfie
I had heard they were going to make the retail/head start client available for download - but that was a looooooong time ago Its good to hear they will patch the beta client tho, that way makes the most sense
Gluestick
Patching now. Looks like it's gonna be a little while. Sigh.
Wolfie
Yeah the patcher is slower than a 1 legged dog on heat!
dekka007
Is it just me or does the scrolling down of the EULA click then tick box then accept. Then scroll down the code of conduct then the tick box then accept getting annoying everytime.
Wolfie
I'm guessing that retail wont have as many of those, i know the first one was a Beta agreement, which is ok i guess. What annoys the h#ll outta me is you cant tap [space] or [Esc] to skip past the splash screen adverts... grrrr
Gluestick
Made my guy. He's called Gtq on Darklands. Trying out how a witch hunter is.
Sabum
So whats everybody doing? I tried a couple of the Destruction classes, squig herder (seems like hunter from Wow) and Magus... gotta say Magus flies around on a disc at lv 1.. pretty cool hehe
quiksilva
Im pretty much set on rolling a swordmaster, I will give IB a try tomorrow too, but (and even though the SM is a bit weak at lower levels I hear good things about the class at later levels if you stick with it)
Gluestick
Anyone else having trouble gettnig onto Darklands? I get into the game but when it loads into the server, it kicks me back to the charater selection screen.
quiksilva
Yeh it just did that to me too Wow, SM got nerfed, its fine for PVE but for RvR it blows. This is not a tank by any stretch of the imagination I was dying to every conceivable class. Not good, and does not bode well for the open server experience. In fact I think I'm sticking with core. I will doing a lot of testing of the IB tomorrow (hardly had enough time this week what with servers being down). quiksilva
I think the lag is the problem for melee playing I have been playing BW for a few hours today and had a great time, i actually felt useful on the battlefield for a change. This was actually alot of fun. I'm very tempted to play BW
Sabum
I tried Shadow warrior and bright wizard, both fun range dps, I want to try engineer too though. Seems interesting.
Wolfie
I've been playing my Archmage (upto lvl11 now) and doing a lot of RvR with it, i'm really enjoying the class, i will definately be rolling this class as my main. Once they clear the servers tomorrow, we need to get everyone together as soon as possible to create the guild. I'm not exactly sure where we have to go or what we have to do, but we do need to get 6 people i believe in order to create it I'll do a bit of research
