I believe the CM Special Medical Service Center can help you: http://www.chiangmai-thai.com/smsc.htm

I think this is the hospital some people refer to as "Suandok" & is CM University-linked. (Hope someone will correct me if not.) CM University is involved in research into lung illness prevalent in the region so would no doubt be a good choice.

Probably RAM can help: http://www.ramhospital.com/chiangmairam1.htm

All the best.

Last year during all the smog I was coughing up god knows what and while in Bangkok I decided to get myself checked out. Went to the Bumbumgrad, paid through the nose but got a good Doctor and a readable x-ray.

Too many scarey stories about TB floating around.

Even though I am just a youngster by Thai Visa standards I get a flu shot every year now. You can get that at the "Suandok" hospital quite cheaply.

From my own personal experiences, I would never go to the CM Ram again.

Yes, for x-rays, BKK may indeed have better technology. How is Ram's equipment these days ?

I think a "lung scan" is something different to an X-ray, though.

I checked & "Suan Dok" is indeed the CM University hospital, also known as Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital - see

http://www.med.cmu.ac.th/about/maharaj.htm . We don't know WM Hand's situation. However, I'd give "Suan Dok" a go; they do seem to have some expertise in this area.

Of course, 2nd and 3rd opinions are never a bad idea and BKK most certainly tends to have better doctors & facilities.

hi,

I can't find information about lung scan in Bangkok, and I would like to know if any hospital has the needed equipment to do it and if it's the best check to do or if there is anything better ?

Thanks.

I will be looking for the same thing at the end of this month. An X-ray is pretty useless and RAM's equipment is the worst. I took a chest X-ray from them back to the States with me and the doctors were stunned at the poor quality. I did a CT-Scan which found a nodule and right now I am interested in knowing if there is a FDG-PET scan available in Chiang Mai. A FDG-PET scan is by far the best diagnostic tool short of a physical biopsy.
