First of all congratulations! My wife gave birth to our son 2 months ago. She shed her baby tummy by "power" walking. She walks every morning. Good old fashioned exercise is the best remedy. :o

vibrating belt are dangerous for your health. they are banned from USA/canada.

Gym is the only way. if she's too lazy, then enjoy having a flabby wife forever... can't get result if you sit down all day... or sit down on a bike at the gym aswell.. have to sweat it out hard not like 100% of the 30-60yo demographic i see at the gym just walkking the threadmill and doing some 10kg machines

Yes she is too lazy, but her excuse is too that she does not have time and spends all her time taking care of the babies. I don't want or trust my children to be left alown with anybody els either so am with her on that point.

Sauna everyday might be an option.

An Isan option is what I'd call a hot bed as such. Basically just after the birth to spend up to an hour every evening on a wooden slatted bed, underneath on the ground is congregated metal where hot coal is put. Lay on the bed with a hot water bottle sitting on the tummy and just sweat it out. Basically shrinking the tummy again. Also to drink home made hot herbal tea of some kind. No air con in this scenario, only a fan.

If she is lazy then the more modern sauna option might be for her.

Regarding any suggestion of going to the gym or working out at home, actually I think this is not good for someone who has given birth within six to twelve months. Same as she should not be lifting anything heavy for a while after the birth for the same reason; it can cause future problem for her insides.

I probably wouldn't bother getting a vibrating belt. More than likely after a week it would be put away with her many shoes ;-)

If the belt option is the only option she'll take, she can get a sweat belt, but not the electric ones you plug into the wall (scary) or battery ones for that matter, just a wrap around the tummy thing that fastens with velcro, that helps to sweat around the tummy, bought from most sports shops.

Can I point out that the female body during pregnancy goes through a massive change, bones actually move & seperate to accommodate the babyie size so after 2 months she would be lucky that her body will revert to pre pregnancy esp after having twins. It takes approx 15 months for everything externally & internally to go back to normal so tell her to take it easy on herself, cause she could cause herself some damage if she goes too mad. Light gentle excersise, swimming, walking with the pushchair, yoga and very slow aerobic like bending, twisting (but very gentle & slow) will all help her pop back into shape. If she forces it she may do more damage than good. :o

And check with her obygn before trying any belts, saunas or excessive routines. I can't stress enough how dangerous it could possibly be.

I had twins about a year ago. While the fat, etc may go away, all of that extra stretched out skin is pretty much there to stay.

Give her a break. She JUST had babies and there is a lot of adjustment. It's crazy enough to be worrying about taking care of twins than to be stressing out of her figure!

Is she breastfeeding? Breastfeeding twins requires a lot of extra calories, especially protien. It also helps bring the weight down. Reducing calories during breastfeeding makes it harder on the body to produce milk and the body keeps on the extra fats because it is trying to continue the milk production.

Getting more sleep (yeah right with twins!) also helps with reducing weight.

It took close to 9 months to gain the needed weight and expect about that amount of time or more for her body to get back to close to normal for her.
