PAD Leaders To Announce New Politics

Jai Dee

Recommended Posts

Let me check the old threads again. I surely missed the part where Rosana and Abhisit stopped police from removing demonstrators.

...

...

...

Ok, done, no sign of it.

Ditto no reference to this anywhere.

Just thrown about conjecture twisting in the wind to justify a biased point of view.

There is a disinct minority here pumping out a point of view,

that is diametrically at odds with most ALL observations,

and most all observers thoughts.

Maybe you only see, what you want to see.

Just saying something over and over and over and over again,

doesn't NECESSARILY make it become true in peoples minds.

When they can't see squat to back it up.

The Emperor has no clothes,

but they are splendiferous to behold in some quarters!

Rosana, 30 senators, Abhisit and Gen. Pathompong interfered with their visit of the protest site, expressing support for PAD, during an ongoing police operation, court ordered and absolutely legal.

Obstruction of justice?

Ridiculous.

You keep running in circles - keep ridiculing posters, the PAD, who are out there on the streets to force the people in power to honor the law!

But how about this current "elected (crony) government" and it's performance, its' competence, it's reluctance to clearly voice which part of the constitution they want to change and why, what the future dvelopment plans are, what the budget will be, how they are going about governing this country?

Not one word about this, but rant about a public opposition group which is made up of a large cirlce of people from all walks of life - voicing their opinion - they are wrong, illegal and stepped on this countries rule of law!?

Today "The Nation" reports that the newly appointed PM Somchai, on his visit to his "home town" and residence in Mae Rim, cheered about that "Taxin is a good man" and that he owed a lot to him!

He is his brother in law yes, but he is the PM and should look to get the passports of the 2 fugitives canceled and an extradition, so they can stand trial and he can UPHOLD the countries reputation which "has been damaged by the PAD"! :o

could you get real please?

Two things :

NONE of your proffered 'proof' links works...

Second I remember reading these at the time,

and your interpretation of interference

is only that; YOUR INTERPRETATION.

Going on the PAD stage and asking questions or talking to the leaders

is a far stretch from preventing the police from doing their job.

Ity COULD be considered good governance ;by finding out first hand

what's happening rather than relying on possibly biased hearsay.

Like I said, you see only what you want to see,

to back up your predetermined point of myopia.

Seeing as the going rate for a PAD protester is well above the average wage, it's not surprising there are many of them out there.

Abhisit also said quite clearly on the TV before the occupation of govt. house that the PAD in his opinion could occupy the area as long as they let the govt. go about its business unheeded. He clearly soon forgot about that.

Quite frankly even though the govt. is pretty shaky it is not a time to create a power vacuum by trying to dismantle the system. Of course this might satisfy some people who can't work within the system but to dismantle it is to set a precedent of having minority groups toppling the system, which is not exactly a good idea.

The reason the PAD do not define their system is probably because the definition would have to be mouldered by the circumstance if ever their chance came up. So no concrete policies on their part of course leaves the field wide open for interpretation.

The PAD are basically as bad as the PPP/govt. , just because they are on the opposing side doesn't qualify them for deification, they are just as rotten as everybody else.

As to why they are allowed to occupy Govt House, I am sure a lot of people would like to know . It is a question that I have heard many foreign visitors asking.

Just as one example of the many strange things they do; one night on ASTV they had a child of about 8-10yrs on the stage, basically slating the opposition in their, as always, not so polite language. The child had obviously been given the script. I was at a Thai friends house with a friend of mine from abroad, visiting. The Thais there were obviously embarrassed and one said sarcastically. Oh look New Politics means the children will be able to insult the adults.

However you rate the PAD politically it must be said that as human beings they come pretty low on the scale.

Sorry.

To answer your questions. They have clearly voiced their views on which articles in particular they want to change. Just go back and search the early news articles - it's the article about amnesty for the coup making junta, the article that allows parties to be dissolved if one executive member is even aware of any infraction against election laws by any MP candidate of his party, which gives unelected institutions far too much power over elected politicians, and there are many voices that want to get rid of the draconian ISOC laws.

The enormous resistance obviously forced the government to change their approach.

Their policies of governance have from the beginning been a continuation of TRT policies, and they were very clear about that. Their performance is hindered by the fact that 111 of TRT party executive members have been banned, of which were some truly despicable politicians, but also some of Thailand's most able ones.

Military also has enormous backdoor influence, which does hinder the performance of the government as well.

Extradition of Thaksin has most definitely been completely bungled since the Government House occupation. In addition to that, any extradition is going to be very difficult, especially when the investigating committee has been staffed with people who have appeared at the stage of PAD, and are on record of being PAD supporters.

Cancellation of his diplomatic passport is not going to make one bit of difference - forget extradition. This is just a PR stunt, nothing else.

It is also rather clear, if you have the ability to read between the lines, that Thaksin's exile has been permitted, and any "protest" against it is just part of a political game.

Real enough, dude? :D

Rosana Tositrakul said that all kids are there out of free will. for sure.

some scary news about the new pedagogy concept included in new politics we could hear last week from the TOC channel. they want a state run program to instill morals and ethics in children who are younger than three years old. source. i don't think it should be a government or state controlled business what to teach 2-3 years old kids what the government think are the "moral values and ethics". that will be only brainwash.

PAD is scum, little dumb ego-maniacs want to be TEH WINNAR and in control with nothing much elaborate to say. just GET OUT, insults, screaming fits and rattle the rattle thaksin and proxies sell the nation.

a mob is never intelligent and and an easy litmus test is to ask them what "New Politics" is about. funny result, the mob have no clue. if you try your opinion to explain the mob re-act: GET OUT, insults, screaming fits and rattle the rattle thaksin and proxies sell the nation. a mob so dumb don't even know what they are up to.

You actually think the government isn't teaching Thai children

how to think like they want them too? You MUST be kidding.

I have never seen a more doctrinaire school system in my life and travels.

Though I never saw Chinese schools when I was there.

Telling people that what truths they plainly see is not truth is brainwashing.

Convincing people that what they can not see is truth

in contrast to the evidence of their own senses is brainwashing.

Continually harping on how bad you think PAD is becomes attempted brainwashing,

when most of us can see it's a different picture than you want to paint.

The government can't reach into every house and observe that

EACH child is being taught properly, in the government's opinion.

But they can decide on some early learning morals lessons

and distribute that to mothers to help children

learn better decision making at an earlier age.

None other than the churches and wats

and temples have been trying this for millenia.

One of the great failings here is the cradle to grave acceptance of corruption.

Maybe attempts slow down it's inculcation at earlier ages is not inappropriate.

By the way continually screaming 'scum' doesn't make your reasoning any easier to follow,

It DOES make it easier for more people to tune you out,

as appearing less rational when compared to others.

most of who? who is us?

TVforum members? there was a poll, last month Do you support the PAD

doesn't look like "most of us" support the PAD. and i think it will more less now, who support PAD.

a few supporter maybe dream, that after the PAD kicks the government out, the days with alcohol bans are over. don't believe everything you here in a samui beer bar.

a mob that clubs people in the street to death, like we could see it, a squaller like Somsak, dumb "GET OUT, GET OUT" chants and all that primitive hate speech - i call scum.

scum, full of double standards and lies. scum that abuse 8-10 years old kids to deliver their hate propaganda - i call scum.

scum PAD guards, who posted a picture of a woman, complete with an enlarged photocopy of her ID card, on the wall of Government House, describing her as a loitering prostitute because they found condoms in her bag. (source Bangkok Post), that call i scum. little dumb ego-maniacs want to be TEH WINNAR and in CONTROL with nothing much elaborate to say. just GET OUT, insults, screaming fits and rattle the rattle thaksin and proxies sell the nation.

One need not be pro PAD to see these rants as not the well considered pure truth either.

If they were more subtle, maybe, MAYBE they might convert one or two fence sitters.

But these rants are more misanthropic sounding than ANY reports of PAD's words.

Thus appearing so blinded by hate that all verbal ends are used to attain the desired effect.

Regardless if that effect is negated by the verbiage.

PAD-initiated violence

By The Nation

The People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) loves to point the finger at its opponents accusing them of using violence against its so-called peaceful assemblies, but it has done everything in its power to cover up the violence committed by its own members, particularly by PAD security guards....

However, the self-proclaimed peace-loving PAD has never taken the violence committed by its own side seriously. Protest leaders have made aggressive demands for officials who injured protesters last month to be brought to justice, but they have not uttered a word over the death of Narongsak Kobthaisong during a clash between the PAD and rival group the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD) earlier this month. None of the PAD leaders called for justice for Narongsak, who was apparently from the DAAD side, never mind mentioning the possibility of an internal investigation to find the protesters responsible for the killing....

If Samak and his PPP buddies had not unleashed

a drunken and specifically worked up DAAD on the PAD rally sites,

these pictures would not have existed.

There ARE pictures and video of PPP people inciting DAAD to riot.

And pictures of PPP men LEADING them to the riot site.

So who caused this carnage? DAAD, who also lost the fight.

No attack by a drunken mob, and no counter measures taken by PAD.

In the heat of battle, when attacked by deadly weapons, you don't think,

you react, and reactions can get out of hand.

Your pictures only show the after affects of DAAD and Samak's actions.

So if you want to talk about lowlifes look to the INSTIGATORS first.

At this point they are likely quite counter productive,

many better and more accurate charges can be used.

When you've been told there is a counter rally of DAAD coming your way,

are you NOT going to be prepared? That would be blind stupidity.

'Hoping for trouble' is only your projection on them.

You can not tell what they are thinking. You only guess.

Expecting certainly, since they like had been told what to expect coming their way.

'Piece' of the action... your Freudian slip maybe...

I think PAD prefers peace, with dialog, to attacks to stop dialog.

Are their guards angles not hardly,

but also not the blood thirsty warriors portrayed by some here.

By The Nation

The People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) loves to point the finger at its opponents accusing them of using violence against its so-called peaceful assemblies, but it has done everything in its power to cover up the violence committed by its own members, particularly by PAD security guards

...

Violence on a different scale has taken place many times during the sit-in protest at Government House. Voluntary guards and the so-called Sri Wichai warriors have a deep mistrust for newcomers who join the protest and suspect them of being members of opposing groups there to infiltrate the protest.

Media representatives are not exempt from this treatment and must go through whole-body searches before entering the protest site. Many of them have also been harassed.

Mere suspicions have sometimes ended up in violence, as a video clip shot by a TV7 cameraman last week demonstrates. The station decided to broadcast the clip showing a group of PAD security guards beating a man at Makkhawan Bridge. The incident happened at about 5.30pm on September 17, when the man, later found out to be Nattaphong Thanetpaisan, walked among the protesters carrying a big bag. He was stopped by the guards, resisted their attempt to search him and was beaten as a result.

Once he realised that the beating was being filmed, one of the guards used a huge blue plastic tarp to block the scene, while the beating went on. The clip is now available on YouTube. A guard told reporters that Nattaphong had been struck because he had refused to allow guards to confiscate an air rifle that he had carried into the area. Nattaphong said he had not intended to carry the rifle onto the protest site but had been trying to walk through the protesters, who were blocking Ratchadamnoen Avenue, heading to Dusit Zoo.

Police said they could not arrest anybody since a complaint had not been filed over the incident. PAD's leaders paid the case no attention.

Perhaps its time this thread was terminated as its mostly speculation. At least, thats the reason the thread about Chaiwat Sinsuwong was terminated after just 6 posts !!! So basically the situation on TV is that if you are a PAD supporter you can post any topic you like, no matter how speculative, if it in some way throws a bad light on the govournment or makes the PAD criminals look like a well meaning bunch of people. But as soon as someone posts a topic for discussion regarding a PAD ' criminals ' arrest and whether it was planned or fortuitous the plug gets pulled immediatley. The situation is a bit more complex.

Yes, a corrupt government was ousted. The way to oust it was another form of corruption - corruption of power enabled by the informal power structures that allowed the military to completely disregard the '97 constitution, which has explicitly forbidden military coups, and has enabled people to resist such. Additionally, many of the junta's members were not just power corrupt, but clearly financially corrupt as well, eg. Gen. Saprang and his family's rather outrageous mishandling of funds.

There are two main philosophies. One, the pro-constitution-change philosophy accepts that politics is corrupt, and change will gradually come with a better development status of the population.

The second philosophy, of the constitution drafters, also knows that politics is corrupt, but attempts to force politics to change through empowerment of courts, civil service and military over politicians.

What those adherents of the second philosophy though completely disregard is, that civil service, etc. is corrupt and part of patronage systems as well, yet not elected or transparent in any way.

My personal view is that the first philosophy is more valid. Adherents of the second philosophy are too impatient, and have not given democratic development enough time.

Your second point.

I do not like the term "proxy". This comes from the IMO rather simplistic view that Thaksin/TRT was solely a organization led by one man to enrich himself and his cronies.

No doubt - there was this element of personal enrichment involved. But on the other hand Thailand's rural population has benefited under Thaksin and TRT more than ever before. Read neutral academic studies - all of them have a more discerning view, supported by evidence data, on these programs. I have attached some at a thread in the general folder and would suggest to download and read them, one post on page one, and another at the beginning at page 2.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Battle-Popul...il-t215630.html

Also, you cannot simply generalize all these banned politicians as corrupt Thaksin cronies. That may be convenient, but is simply not realistic. Read studies, educate yourselves. Bangkok Pundit has many very educating posts on his blog about the background of individual politicians and their histories.

You third point.

Don't simplify my opionions. There are many cases where Thaksin maybe should be tried in court (and the most important IMHO - the drug war killings - will never see the day of light). And also the junta should be tried, and so the PAD leaders.

Yet, for the sake of Thailand's future - i am somewhat idealistically of the view that all should be given an amnesty, so that we can return to actually fighting our differences via the democratic processes, and learn from the mistakes that allowed the situation to deteriorate that badly.

But i am realist enough that this will not happen, at least not until things got a lot worse.

Away from the cameras are many incidents where guards and "Naclop Srivichai" have harassed journalists and rally goers. If you go into the archives of the newspapers you will find many reported incidents. This rather extreme one was captured on video, most aren't because they happened without witnesses.

Many normal PAD supporters have distanced themselves from PAD, because of those incidents. Academics that once supported PAD, and have distanced themselves in public are smeared on the PAD stage.
