Mustard And Molasses

Featured Replies

I found a recipe for baked beans and, among the ingredients are mustard powder and molasses. I couldn't find either at Central Chitlom.

Anyone know where these might be for sale?

In the U.S., one only uses "unsulfered" molasses for cooking - which tastes much better that the kind with sulpher in it. Be careful because they often sell it with sulfer in Thailand as it is fed to pigs.

Unsulfered is what you are looking for.

Villa 33 but you'll never find the molasses though - ask the staff ... it is quite expensive the Coleman's musterd powder you'll find with the mustard in jars near the spices - baked beans are quite cheap and concidering the price of Molasses you may just want to think about buying the generic brands and spicing them up a bit

As Ulysses said, there is cheap Molasses arround, but only if the smell and flavor of burned rubber appeals,

Yes, but you need the molasses and mustard to doctor up the canned beans to make them taste right.
