Mobil Phones, What To Buy?

Featured Replies

I want to buy two new mobile phones, one for my GF, and one for myself. I don´t have a clue what to buy. She want (obvious ) a fancy one. I just need one with big keyboard and backlight, "small" camera and handfree. I work offshore (rigs) and we are not allowed to bring phones or cameras, so if you have an expencive device, it will be "lost" by the time I get onshore!

I fly by L.A. and Hong Kong to Bangkok. Where is the best place to buy?

NEVER pick out a phone for a woman. Give her 10,000 baht and tell her to buy whatever she likes. As for you, you can buy a new Nokoia for about 1,000 baht. The last two I bought were Nokia 1200's. They talk good and don't do much else.

1200s Jeez, you're flash ! :o

I avoid any phone with moving parts, clams, sliders etc.

Stick to candy bars. Not much to go wrong.

I'm chuffed with the 3110classic & use my 6300 as a pocket camera.

I need another phone as well and was looking at the 6300 because of the 2.0 camera (just in case I need one) or going without camera for less than Bt2000. Price I have for 6300 is about Bt5500 in BigC, near same MBK.

So, it has to be a Nokia 100% and simple but good battery life. Don't care about music or connectivity etc except getting photos out. Don't need internet or any of that jazz. Phone, SMS, store numbres, maybe camera. Any ideas ?

If you can put up with the shitty battery life on the 6300, go for it, it's a v.nice phone. :o

I've got a 3110 for work. It's a brilliant little phone.

Good idea. I will be fine with the 3110c or any cheaper modell. She get a brochure from a shop, and have a few she likes.

N81 - E51 - 6500 Slide and 7310. The last one seems to have good radio and music facility.

But the prices was high. This is in Krabi. For example, the 3110c cost 4620.- The E51 9800.-

So I can give her 10000 to by one herself, or se if I get one of this models cheaper in BKK. ( Airport shops is not the cheapest, is it?)

Thanks.

Tom,

Harry's got a pushbike, not a car.

He wants a phone for his new girlfriend, not a satellite navigation system.

Do try to keep up! :D:o Dick.

My "pushbike", Ducati ST4 has a Garmin, and my 4x4 Nissan has one as well! But I cant call with them!

I was quite surprised that my wife picked the Nokia 6500 Slider. I really thought she would pick something smaller and thinner. The fact that she made a good choice surprised me.

My Gf or, W2B mail me and she like the 6500 Slider as well. I believed she fancy the smaller and thinner ones, but "not to small and not to big is ok" (heard that before in an other relation :o )!

I´ll see. Have 5 hours to kill at Suvarnabh. on Friday to window shopping!

Thanks.
