Retirement Visa In Vientiane?

Featured Replies

My business is closed and I can not extend my Business Visa accordingly.

I went to Tachilek for the 30 days twice, waiting for money coming in.

Right now I have 1.8 mil. on the bank and receive appr. 45.000,= Thb retirement every month.

It looks like I have to leave the country before I can apply for a Retirement Visa at the Chiang Mai Immigration. ( I wonder why )

Vientiane is an option, what kind of paperwork do I need if I want to apply for a Retirement Visa in Vientiane.??

If possible.

Thanks in advance.

Go to Vientiane and get a 90 day non-o visa. Nothing special to get visa. Just over 50 and maybe show them the money in bank.

Come back and apply for an extension based upon retirement. Immigration website has info link follows. Click on extension of visa and then to spend the remainder of life.

You will see that there are different options for income and money in bank. If you have pension you can combine it with money in bank to get to the 65,000 baht monthly if you want.

In order to change a visa exempt you have to have 21 days remaining. And some offices won't do anything with them.
