if that's an outpost of the restaurant at the Oriental Hotel, I seem to remember a lamb dish for 16,000.00 Baht on their menu ... and it was not a whole lamb ......corkscrew, like your food budget :o

however, the dish is nicely presented but where is the 50 year old Balsamico and extra Vergine Olive oil ? the slight coating doesn't cut it on the Moz.. were the bottles on the table to help yourselve?

Check the photo again. See the two small plastic tubes of each.

Hmmm yes!!

I must admit that I may be a bit out of touch with modern serving methods but this is unique to say the least - they are quite small though, especially for the olive oil I would say .. I do understand that you don't put a $ 200.00 ++ bottle of Balsamico on the table but the olive oil .... hmmm in the old days, we used to poor the good stuff onto the plate in sufficient quantities .. that was before plastic viles though .... remember strawberries with balsamico ($250.00 or thereabouts a bottle) and freshly ground black pepper - not a cheap desert but the head waiter used to be table side pouring the Balsamico from a carafe and turning a huge pepper mill for the customer . those were the days :o

I may be completely wrong though if this was another buffet and you picked the viles from the buffet
