george Posted October 21, 2008 Share Posted October 21, 2008 8 northern, northeastern provinces warned of flash floods BANGKOK: -- The Meteorological Department Tuesday warned residents of eight northern and northeastern provinces to brace themselves for heavy rains and possible flash floods. In its morning forecast issued at 4 am, it said a westerly trough, which lies across the North and upper Northeast, will unleash heavy rains in the provinces. The eight provinces are Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Tak, Nong Khai, and Loei. In its morning forecast, the department said Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, and Prachuap Khirikhan would be hit by heavy rains due to a low pressure mass.
