Went to the Ducati DesmosediciRR Bangkok Launch Party a few weekends back.

A good mixture of westerners and Thais.

Here's some pics though the quality is dodgy as they were taken on a camera-phone.

Many arrived on their own bikes and there was an impressive display of Ducatis.

A mix of Monsters, Classics, stradas and motards here.

Some Superbikes also. Notice the Repsol Honda banished to the back. :o

Actually, I was surprised at the number of Duc's that did turn up. Riding a 1098 in Bangkok traffic must be testing.

The two white S4R's on the right were highly modified.

I wonder whether that's removable magic marker?

Here we go! This way girls! Come to daddy!

Can you believe it?! They walked right past me and sat on the bikes. What's Bangkok coming to?

Finally unveiled. Anyone got a spare 3.5 mil?

I was going to ask...But 3.5m...About £62k :o

A normal 1098 is about £10k, a new "R" goes for about £24k...and a Desmodici £40-45k in the UK.

That tricolore looks awesome!

Rustic, RR version is highly limited, no? I heard Brad Pitt and Jay Leno were 2 of the first dozen customers in USA?

By the way, have you seen promotional video of this model filmed on streets of Milan, it is fantastic!

Thanks, I'll check out the video when I get onto a faster connection at work next week.

I knew Jay Leno got one and Brad Pitt already had a Monster.

Strangely enough, the tricolor didn't receive too many positive comments at the gig. Many were raving over the pearl white 848 below (possibly my next bike!)

Btw, the 3 RR's Ducati Thailand ordered have all been sold!

Hi folks, the Monster 695 is the "ducks guts" according to a friend who has ridden one. They do look nice in the white. He wants to swing a leg over the Triumph Speed triple to compare the 2. It's a pity the Triumph is Au$4000 dearer here.

848 is getting some awesome reviews in Europe in USA. What is the Thai price?

I was offered in February 2007 brand new tricolore for 1,5 million, not sure how much they go for now.

The dealers' price list is here. http://www.ducatisti.co.th/financial.htm

Doesn't list a Tricolore but the 848 is 898k.

The 1098 Tri in the showroom was up for sale last year at 1.4 or 1.5 mil lots of extras but second hand.
