Sorry, I meant the Bangkok Post or the Nation. Didn't realize Samui Express was considered a newspaper.

I think you've missed the point. The incident reported (by whoever) is obviously being swept under the carpet due to the political connections. Obviously my grammar was correct and your inability to question spellings , punctuation , grammar , etc has resulted in your purile comment. Stick to the point or start a new thread "Is Samui Express worthy of press status ? "

Wow, what an aggressive and insulting post. Actually, I was unclear in my original post when I stated local english newspapers and should really have just said English language newspapers. You presume too much and really need to learn to tone down the poor attitude.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !

SamuiMole:

As you like to criticsize others for not to be clear enough didn't gives you the right to exspect that those other are able to read und understand your language.

Keep strict on topic and maybe you should reread the forum rules for to be sure to follow them.

Cheers.

So all the people that HATE Samui Express still buy and read every issue?

Good game.

Um, no. Never seen it. Its never made it to Koh Phangan (or if it has, I've never seen it) and its never been available when I have been on Samui. I never realized Samui Express was a newspaper. I assumed it was very similar in content to the ad driven publications I've always seen, with a bit of news inside, as the old Community Magazine used to do.

Anyway, if this was reported in the Thai language press, I fail to see how that is "being swept under the carpet" .

Advice from Reimar 'Keep strict on topic and maybe you should reread the forum rules for to be sure to follow them'.

I think the topic is 'Another shooting in Soi Mango'.

:o

Yes, and the point I was making was that this shooting was duly reported in the Thai language press.

It is on topic because the question about the publication in an Newspaper was pointed to Samui Express. It would be also a question it's an legal registered Newspaper?!

By the way, if someone report a fatal incident or similar, there must be a prove which could be a Link to a Newspaper or other Source.

Cheers.

Just arrived to work to hear that last night another fatal shooting in Soi Green Mango.

Anyone else hear about this or have any details ?

Forgive me, Reimar, but we must be reading different threads.

This topic is about a shooting in Soi Mango and nowhere does the OP discuss whether or not the Samui Express can be considered a newspaper.

Surely this warrants a new thread if anyone is interested in discussing it.

Anyhow, no doubt you will disagree BUT, we are all allowed a point of view and that's mine.

yesterday i was out in the party area, talking with a thai friend who met people that he knows at the 7/11 beside the burger king.

one of them had strange eyes (understand maybe not clean to the drug side) and he seems to be happy to speak with me as he offered to smoke weed, i did reply it was dangerous not only to health but also regarding the law.

he told me he was in the mafia and showing the big knife he had in his pants, not that i do believe the mafia side but i believed the knife, it was more than time for me to go and meet my friends near the solo as my thai language may lead to misunderstood by using wrong accent, i didn't want to take the risk to piss him off and be in trouble.

i heard another story from a friend yesterday regarding an issue with knife at the solo after the shooting(days after), apparently an italian guy whose a girl borrowed some money went to claim it back and was assaulted by knife by a few thai guys who were protecting the girl.

i dunno if this is true or not, did someone heard about this?

edit : i think i found the story on the samui express : http://news.samuiexpress.net/index.php?start=3 , it appears it's not totally similar to what i heard, but seems in the right timing.
