coventry
Sorry if it's been asked before. In the event of sickness/old age, what does one do in the event of visa renewal when one cannot attend the immigration office ?
opalhort
You will need a certificate issued by a doctor at a government hospital. If Imm has any doubts they may want you to show up even if in a wheelchair. opalhort
ubonjoe
I am sure there is a way to take care of immigration if you can't make the trip. Perhaps a letter from a doctor saying you are unable to travel. And a power of attorney to somebody authorizing them to apply for your extension. I have thought about that for myself but my intention is to have a PR by then so I don't have to worry about it. Are you sure about that? I have been told that one would still need to do the 90 days reporting even when holding a PR.
ubonjoe
Not required for PR according to the immigration act. First line of section that covers 90 reports. Section 37 : An alien having received a temporary entry permit into the Kingdom must comply with the following: Link: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/do...gration_Act.pdf
Mario2008
Correct, on a PR you only have to report once a year to the police, maybe even once in 5 years.
