george Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Aircraft catches fire on Motorway BANGKOK: -- A light amphibian aircraft caught fire while being transported on a truck on the Bangkok-Chon Buri Motorway Monday. Police said the accident happened at about 12:30 pm at about kilometre marker 12.5 on the outbound motorway. The truck driver, Boonma Dathong, 41, said he was transporting the SeaRay Amphibian Aircraft from a plane maintenance firm in Bangkok to the owner in Trat. He said he noticed motorists on the opposite lane flashing their headlights to signal something to him and when he looked at the rear window and he saw smoke billowing out from the plane. He said he parked the truck and tried to put out the fire with an extinguisher but the fire quickly engulfed the plane in less than three minutes. -- The Nation 2008-10-27
phaethon Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Now that's just plane crazy. Yes, someone either doesn't know the difference between noun and adjective or this was an aircraft being piloted by frogs... It wasn't air France was it? This pic gave me pause while scanning around BKK on Google Earth: 13 51 02.73N 100 32 36.31E
