Good Chiangmai Restaurants?

Featured Replies

Hi,

In a week's time I'm going Chiang Mai.

Can I find out where are the nice places for dining?

Primarily I'm looking for unique ambience and good food. Budget wise preferably under 300 baht per person. I eat all sort of food.

Kindly post the restaurant's name and address if possible. Let me know their signature dishes biggrin.gif

Thank you very much! smile.gif

Go to the one at the base of Doi Suthep in the Jungley bit. I think its up by the zoo entrance, got to be the best location around - has REAL waterfall.

Food is as thai food is.. excellent pretty much everywhere.

Otherwise i would suggest Riverside/Goodview, by the river/nawarat bridge. Pricey, but romantic for tourists - sit well away from the live band.

Also, on top of the Pornping hotel is an open air restaurant, cheap, and nice, best view in town, esp for loy kratong fesitval

My fave is the 'dancing prawn' - "Gung Temme" on the way over to San Kampeighn. - built over water, speciality dish - live prawns marinated alive (hence dancing) in spicey sauce.
