Food Intolerances

Featured Replies

I have lived in Bangkok for most of the past 4 years but my food intolerances (including soy)have developed/increased while living here and there are no real Health Food Stores here so eating without allergic reactions has become nearly impossible no matter how careful I am.

When I'm in USA I have no real problem but develop problems here quickly. I was wondering if anyone else has had serious food intolerance problems and how they were handled. I don't want to go home so am looking at every option.

Can you read Thai well enough to read food labels, particularly the ingredients? Soy is very difficult to avoid even in the Western world. It pops up in bread as lecithin made from soy, among many other unexpected places.

What makes you think you have food intolerances? They are notorious for being very hard to pinpoint.

Ask your doctor if he can refer you to someone that can design a diet for you to sidestep the known allergens.
