Used me old and trusty Oly 8080 last week-end. The E-3 had a 70 - 300mm lens on it at that time so no photos on show this time around. :D

If you use Photoshop there's an area under "Image" >adjustments>highlights/shadows. Have a look at it and see what it can do to this image for you.

p.s. why do you never post a thumbnail like all others? We could then download it and demonstrate our responses.

Hi "'The Vulcan",

Thank you for your reply, much appreciated :D.

Photoshop, I have never used it, but have ACDSee Pro 2.5 on my new lap top so may try it with that. Any hints, please :o

Thumbnails are for attachments, I post my photos on pbase and then link them to here as my/our/your space on here is limited, and yes I do hear you on this point :D, but with limited access to our members of a fast line, hence, I post like that. :D

O.K. here is the Real Photo Very Big :D

Hope you can help me out with what I have done wrong.

Yours truly,

Kan Win :(

1 minute in Photoshop using technique of highlights/shadows

As you can see there is a lot more shadow detail, the highlights have been "simmered down" (although still blown). Normally I expose for the highlights knowing I alway have leeway in pulling shadow detail. Also used PT lens to correct barrel and neat image to smooth it.

A lot more could be done but I think you get the gist.

Hope it helps

Great shoot, and great demo from Vulcan.

I know this is nitpicking but if you removed the garbage floating in the pond at the bottom left hand side it would be a sellable photo for stock, or travel magazines.

Nice photo. How do you get the clouds to appear so nicely? Invariably mine are washed out in pics and hardly visible.
