Hello,

Thank you for reading my question. I appreciate it!

I am American.

I am in Koh Phangan, Thailand.

I am currently on the second 60 days of my double entry visa (which I got at the Thai Embassy of Los Angeles).

I would like to extend this 30 more days.

I have heard this can be done at the immigraiton office of Koh Samui at:

Immigration Office

Thaweeratphakdee Road, Nathon

Moo 3, Tambon Angthong

Koh Samui

However, after reading around on the net, it seems that many people only get 10 day extensions for the standard 1900 Baht fee.

Still possible to extend my visa 30 days in Koh Samui?

p.s. I did two 30 day tourist entrys last year. And one other double entry visa (issued from Los Angeles) 6 months ago, if this matters.

Much love,

Thank you all!

If you are on a tourist visa (60 days) you just go to the office with whatever they require and pay the fee

no other visit to Thailand matters. The 30 days is the extension ... people can occasionally get up to 7 days if they are not really entitled to an extension and have proof they are leaving during that time.

Hi! :o

I don´t think there should be a problem to extend your visa with another 30 days.

Most expats who stay on tourist visa in Samui do like this: (my example is for single entry tourist visa)

-Enter Thailand with tourist Visa

-Stay for 60 days.

-Extend their stay with 30 days at the Immigration office

-Go for a one day-visa run, 3 times, which gives another 30 days/each entry.

-Apply for another tourist visa at perfered location outside Thailand (Penang, Vientien, Kota Baru.. etc.)

-Enter Thailand again and do the same procedure over again.

Those who have double entry tourist Visa can do like this:

-Enter Thailand with double entry tourist Visa

-Stay for 60 days

-Extend the stay for 30 days at the immigration office

-Go one a one day-visa run, to activate the next period of 60 days as you enter Thailand again

-Extend the visa with 30 days at the immigration office

-Apply for a new tourist visa at prefered location outside Thailand ( Penang, Vientien, Kota Baru...etc)

-Do it all over again.

As long as you ENTER Thailand with a valid toursit Visa, there shouldn´t be a problem.

Please don´t hesitate to fill in here if I have written something wrong, please.

This is how most expats I know solve their Visa situation and it seems to work for them.

Hope everthing will work out well for you.

Take care now:)

Love and light.
