Coyote Bars ?

Hi all you Pattaya gang,

I need your help !! I have friends coming over from the UK next month & is thier first visit to LOS Where, if any, are there any good Coyote bars to visit in Patters ??

Hi Chavy, please define what you call a Coyote Bar and is it anything like Coyote Style as defined by the Urban Dictionary

1. Having intercourse with an undesirable girl while she wears a paper bag over her head. (The unfolded corners of the paper bag look like coyote ears)

Note If trying you may want to cut out eye holes so she can see - but this is optional !

2. When your woman will not give you any sex & you just sit next to the hole & howl like a coyote.

I do have a fairly good imagination and await replies to see if I'm anywhere near correct in my suppositions..........

Club Blu / Soi Buakhao & Soi LK Metro is the best around.

Casino Club is the second-best, but it doesn't get going until well after midnight.

All the other "coyote" bars are pale immitations.

Of couse, if you want the "real" coyote expereince, as its done in Bangkok, then you can visit Fashion Club near Soi 6 (in the under-construction Pattaya Dragon complex). This is as close to a BKK "G-Club" as you're going to find in Pattaya. Can be expensive, though, if you're not careful. The only way to do is is like the Thais do: Get a bottle of Chivas (about 1,200) with mixers. Have the girls drink from your bottle and avoid the lady drinks. Do that and you can have an enjoyable, relatively inexpensive evening for the whole group.

Of course, for tourists, I'd take them to X-Zyte and get the bottle there. Even cheaper and much better entertainment. And they have some coyotes too.

Soi LK metro is a small L shaped street . It connects soi bukao with soi "11" and is between second road and soi bukao. I am not 100% sure it is off of soi 11 as you come up second road. For sure it is up the street where the KISS restaurant is on second road across from Mike's mall. It is the street the Areca Lodge is on.

Yes, The Fashion Club (formerly "Slim"), soi 5 (off of #2 Road).

Expensive (250 baht lady drinks, 12,500 baht bar-fines, 1-1,500 baht VIP rooms). Doors open at 10pm. Some of the best looking girls in Pattaya dancing on 2 stages, with well choreogrpahed "special" shows (no nudity) starting around 11:30pm. Doors close 04:00.

Not for the budget concious types, and you won't see too many "shorts, sandals & sleeveless t-shirt" types in there.

Further south, down (soi Marine Plaza ?) is Coyotees A-Go-Go (staggering distance from The Blues factory and Walking Street). Coyote and nud_e dancers (I've heard mixed reviews about the place though. Some like it, some don't. Some nights it's hot, some nights it's not.)

At least it's close to Walking Street, so if it's not to your liking, there are numerous other venues nearby.

Mostly agree but I would put Casino higher than Club Blu. There is another new one in Soi LK (sorry forgot the name - whit neon blue interior), But seems to be quite dead.

Recently visited Papagayo again, positively surprised...more people, cheaper beer, more dancers / hostesses....

"Coyote ugly" comes from a Texas term describing an ugly woman. The history of the term is this:

Coyotes have been known to chew their legs off to escape from steel traps set by coyote hunters.

Men have been known to try and chew their arm off when they wake up with an ugly woman's head on their shoulder after a drunken night, taking this action in an attempt NOT to awaken her.

Thus, the lady was "coyote ugly".

Coyote bars sprang up after the movie, "Coyote Ugly" came out a few years ago. Get the movie and watch it. It isn't particularly a good movie but there are some nice young lasses dancing on the bars.

Sounds like things I should know before I get there in January.

Ah young padawan, you have much to learn in the ways of Pattaya !

Better to learn now, than to experience later (some get right upset during their first "experience").

Technically, a "bar-fine" is a fee paid to the establishment, which allows one of it's employees to leave work without penalty.

Imagine in you home country. You go to a bar, met a cute waitress/bartender/cashier, and would like to get to "know" her better, perhaps by going out to dinner, or a movie, or back to your place.

What are your options ? Stay in the bar until she is off shift ? Wait for her to have a day off ?

What if you don't want to wait that long ? Should she just up and leave, risking getting fired ? Should she just quit her job ?

What if you could pay a fee to the establishment, that would let her go without penalty ? Then she would still get her regular salary, and the establishment would be compensated for any loss of business her absence may cause. That is the "bar fine".

After paying it, what ever happens between you and her, is strictly between you and her. While it is generally agreed and accepted practise that she will go with you to do whatever once you have paid the fine, she does have the right to refuse. You can't force her to do anything she doesn't want to.

Coyote

Coyote dancers are ones that (generally) don't dance naked. Skimpy, sexy outfits to be sure, but no nudity. It is against the law in Thailand to dance naked (in public at least). Some clubs that allow such activity to take place get raided by the police now and then (it's kind of hilarious to be sitting is such a place and hear a police siren, or see a certain red-light in the club start flashing, and all the girls scramble off stage to be replaced by others that have a wee bit more clothing on).

Other venues, like car shows, also employ coyote dancers to draw attention to their displays. From what I've seen though, most people are more interested in the dancers than whatever else is being showcased.

Note that there are many aspects of life in Pattaya that can't be discussed on ThaiVisa (like bar girls/boys, prostitution and other illegal activities). There are other websites where those topics are the prime reason for their being.

Thus ends the lesson of the day. You are now one tiny step closer to enjoying your time in Pattaya.

One final thought. If you pay the bar-fine at a place called Jenny's, you may end up getting "more" than you expected. However, if you find yourself there, be sure to give britmaveric a generous tip (I think he could use the extra dosh) !
