With regard to the Visa.

Once you are married you can get a Multi Entry Non O Visa which entitles you to entries of up to 90 days. You can stretch this out to 15 months. You will have to do a border run every 90 days. This Visa is reported to be issued at KL and Penang Embassy/Consulate.

If you can show a monthly family income of 40,000 Baht you can get annual extension meaning that you can stay for a year without doing border runs. This income can be yours, your Wife's or a combination of both.

Re getting married . It is a long time since I did it so I may be a bit out of date.

You go to your Embassy and get an affirmation to marry document. Saying that you are free to marry.

You get this translated. You go to the Amphur with your soon to be Wife, her Id Card, her house registration, your passport and probably a few other things and sign the register.

Info. from the UK Embassy. I do not know your nationality but this will give some idea.

Married toi a Thai person will get you an extension of stay basedd on marriage if you meat the requirement of having an income of 40,000 baht a month. This income can be your's, your wife's or the 2 of you combined. Incoem from within Thailand needs to be shown with tax documents, income from abroad by letter stating your income from your embassy.

The procedure for getting married is as Light Beer states. Just don't forget to go to the Ministry of Foriegn Affairss, Cosular section in BKK to get the statement that you are free to marry legalized, after you have it translated.

Check your embassy website, maybe you can apply by mail. Yiu need to check the things you need to show your embassy anyway.

The translation can be done by mail, and they can also take care of the legalisation for you.
