November 28, 200817 yr What does it tell us?1. The Police is not supporting and following the orders of the government 2. The Army is not supporting and following the order of the government 3. The Government is exiled in Chiang Mai 4. The airports will remain closed over the weekend 5. Thailand is without government Say bye bye Mr. Somchai, today! Its obvious that most people support PAD. If not this would have been over when it started. Really? Obviously you have not been to Issan, people started taking money out of Bangkok Bank yesterday up here (about 15million baht in one day at my local branch) after a rumour of Bangkok Bank supporting PAD hit the streets. (My friends wife works in the bank) Your local branch of Bangkok Bank keeps over 15 million in cash on hand in Isaan? 15 million cash in a local branch is on a surprising number at all. Up-country, people don't use ATM or cheque, not to say credit card. Large amount of cash transection is normal.
November 28, 200817 yr Author did the PAD disperse? any news at all? Yeah, they are now playing badminton.

November 28, 200817 yr The crackdown should be at 8 pmDespite earlier reports that the Metropolitan police have been ordered to prepare to disperse the PAD protesters at Don Muang at 3 p.m. today, new rounds of reports have emerged that Interior Minister Kowit Wattana has ordered the police to prepare to take actions against the PAD at 8 p.m. tonight. Right on time for the... prime time on TV ! This is grotesque.
November 28, 200817 yr How many demonstrators are there at GH, Don Muang and Suvarnaphumi? I havent seen numbers for the respective places in ages. A dispersal in the dark sounds risky but then agin it is TOC reporting it so it could just be a call for more to join.
November 28, 200817 yr did the PAD disperse? any news at all? Yeah, they are now playing badminton. If the police had any nads they would need the rackets to be hitting tear gas canisters back. Hopefully US made!!
November 28, 200817 yr BANGKOK (Reuters) - Dozens of riot police with truncheons and shields gathered at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport on Friday after talks with anti-government protesters apparently failed to end a crippling blockade. A Reuters correspondent saw 100 police set up a perimeter at the airport headquarters building, about 300 meters (yards) from where the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protesters had besieged the main terminal. Earlier, police said they hoped talks with protest leaders would end the siege, but warned they would "take other steps" if they failed. "We are asking them to allow the airport to resume operations," Lieutenant-General Suchart Muenkaew, the chief police negotiator, told reporters. "We will keep talking, but if it fails we will take other steps. The last step will be to disperse them." Continued here
November 28, 200817 yr Me thinks it would be an excellent time to test this baby right here. Non-lethal crowd control vehicle. This would get the people movin' and groovin' to the waves. And if they really want to focus on a scorched earth policy... This little number will end it all. Of course a new airport will need to be built... TheWalkingMan
November 28, 200817 yr So let's get this right. One of most corrupt police forces in the world was instructed to commence removal of PAD by the most corrupt collection of thieves and their relatives this side of Africa , correct ? Question, whenever has the RTP been known to act without "some inducement" ? Question, When has any Thai understood the concept of time ? Question, From which camp do the Police tradtionally belong and look up to ? Question, Why should a bunch of semi illiterate fools who can not even direct traffic properly, nor themselves obey the rules of the road be expected to undertake a lawfull instruction as planned? Question, Planning is beyond the comprehension of many in this country except for, that is, taking illegal amounts of THB out of the country, therefore how does one suppose this plan will be implemented ? Question, Has Toxin sanctioned the payment of bonus's to these cretons based on their kill rate or serious injury to the PAD ? Question, When do you think this nonsense will end and control and government will be returned to the better educated ? And before you ask I neither support PAD or the other morons but I do support the believe that any country should be run by those most able and qualified. One man one vote is drivvel put forward by those with socialistic ideals but wool between their ears. Proof - then look at USA electing Bush, UK electing Thatcher, and of course Thailand electing Toxin.
November 28, 200817 yr if this is the case why did PAD seize Swampy? I have a feeling that Swampy is taken because PAD is sick and tired on weathering the rain and sun of GH. Have you looked at the living condition there (GH)? These are supposed the Bangkok elite and the rich. Where do they park their Merc & BMW etc. How to attrack more supporters to join. Swampy is the perfect. Large enclosed area, air-conditioned, good toilets (and lots of it). The airline lounch is a plus. If you read Thai, you should read this. Even I, a ROP GOLD member, have never even been allowed to use the 1st class lounge. It is reported that things are been stolen at the VIP lounge, and the furniture and equipments are begining ransack (may be to hush, let just say abuse). http://www.matichon.co.th/news_detail.php?...03&catid=05

November 28, 200817 yr Consdiering the government have just replaced the police chief, it looks like they are going to press ahead with a more proactive approach.

November 28, 200817 yr There's no way they'll pass the amendments on Dec 8-9 now. It's uncertain they would be able to have that session at all.On Monday they tried to ambush the MPs - wait until everyone gets together to vote on Asean related laws, then hit them with amendments. The usual stalling tactic of not showing up wouldn't have worked, and many coalition MPs wouldn't date to vote against it in the open session. There's a reason they publicly denied there were going to do it, it's likely that for the same reason the plan won't work on Dec 8. There's also an important speech on Dec 4, I don't think PPP would have the numbers after that. And ....the 2nd December... Three parties ordered to deliver closing speech in party-dissolution case on Dec 2 The Constitution Court Friday ordered the People Power Party, Chart Thai Party and Matchima Tipataya Party to deliver their closing statement in the party-dissolution case against them on December 2. The court held a session at 10:30 am Friday and ordered the parties to send their leaders to deliver closing speech at 9:30 am. If they do not attend the session, the court will regard that the parties forfeit their right to deliver the closing speech. The court also dismissed the parties' request to hold more inquiries, saying the court has enough written evidence for deliberation. The nation Let's see if they get dissolved... the PPP stands in the rain and so does this Government... the inevitable may happen in early December...no coup needed! Might mean a early Bday present for a certain person. So I'd guess they MUST change the constitution this week or the're toast. Not wait for the 8th and 9th., With the SoE, call emergency legislative session to debate PAD situation, yada, yada, yada, and during it pass the charter changes to give them a pass. Definitely MUST keep and eye out for that one.
November 28, 200817 yr Consdiering the government have just replaced the police chief, it looks like they are going to press ahead with a more proactive approach. Nice ... Finally some action , something they should have done 3/4 days ago . Boil them or whatever ... as long as they go back home i'm fine . They need to realise that this is something you do not do , you do not take a international airport or a harbour or something like that and if you do punishment would be severe . Would be everywhere in the world ...
November 28, 200817 yr Police Commissioner-General Pol Gen Phatcharawat Wongsuwan was Friday removed as the national police chief and seconded to an inactive post at the PM's Office. The government appointed police inspector-general Pol Gen Prateep Tanprasert as caretaker police commissioner-general. The nation

November 28, 200817 yr The domestic terrorists that are occupying Government House and the two Bangkok airports are duping the PAD supporters by telling them that their collective action will improve the quality of life for all Thais. The terrorists are using women, children and the elderly as human shields to accomplish their limited agenda. The governments failure is huge however the terrorist actions by core PAD leaders is reprehensible. The leaders of PAD need to be removed from society, perhaps for decades, as punishment for despicable acts against humanity. There is no justification for endangering the public and cripling the economy. The PAD supporters here on TV are unfortunate victims of a domestic terrorist group. We all should feel sorry for every victim now and for those who will fall during the impending violence to come.
November 28, 200817 yr Brilliant satire, just a pity some people don't get it ... Would be good if someone actually credited the author: Not The Nation
November 28, 200817 yr ASTV: Kowit Orders Crackdown at 8 p.m. Despite earlier reports that the Metropolitan police have been ordered to prepare to disperse the PAD protesters at Don Muang at 3 p.m. today, new rounds of reports have emerged that Interior Minister Kowit Wattana has ordered the police to prepare to take actions against the PAD at 8 p.m. tonight. Meanwhile the PAD lawyer has filed a petition with the Administrative Court for a temporary injunction against PM Somchai Wongsawat's evoking of emergency decree at Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports. http://www.thailandoutlook.tv/toc/ViewData...?DataID=1010885
November 28, 200817 yr Seeing as PAD leadership would be more advantaged by a violent clearance than a peaceful one, presumably the means used will be as minimally violent and non-Tiananmen-esque as possible. Water hosepipes? Stink-bombs?

November 28, 200817 yr Thai language website Matichon is reporting the head of the Metropolitan Police as saying the police have 10 'methods' to effect a dispersal and will begin with negotiation over the phone. They are also producing a document outlining the operation and will seek opinions from the law society etc. Apparently the operation will be entirely televised. 1. Do nothing. 2. Assess the situation and do nothing. 3. Appraise their seniors of the situation and do nothing. 4. Prepare a report for the minister of the interior and do nothing. 5. Hold a press conference and do nothing. 6. Invite various psychologists to advise on the possible approaches and do nothing. 7. Hold a photo call in front of the airport for all the top brass and do nothing. 8. Consult various astrologists and do nothing. 9. Issue an ultimatum that if the protesters do not leave within 5 hours action will be taken and do nothing. 10. Defer the final decision to the minister for the interior and do nothing. then, 11. Wait until the protesters get bored and homesick and all leave then hold a press conference lauding the police tactics and claiming a total success in the resolution of the situation. The alternative:- 1. Recall Thaksin Shinawatra. 2. Storm the building shooting anybody not in police uniform. 3. Claim a total success in the peaceful end to the siege but admit to one fatality that resulted from an honest mistake. Very good and because it is so true.
November 28, 200817 yr Police say the 'Die Hard' star immediately ducked into a maintenanceroom and then climbed through a vent when he saw that the airport was being taken over on Wednesday. Love it. It is nearly Christmas after all...!!!
November 28, 200817 yr Thaksin's money is IN Bangkok Bank among others he wants to put pressure one them so they will ignore the Attorney General and just send it to him rather than risk a run on their bank. So calling them Pro PAD up north is a perfect tactical maneuver. There again from a business perspective there are certainly some brownie points to be earned from being seen as pro-PAD from PAD backers, you just don't want the general population to know about it.
November 28, 200817 yr Always much easier dealing with these matters under cover of darkness... 8pm? Isn't there some regular tv program shown at that time, on most channels and on most nights?
November 28, 200817 yr Looking the pictures if I would be Somchai I would be more afraid of my wife than of the PAD or Anupong. LOl -good analysis !
November 28, 200817 yr All I'm seeing on NBT is a bunch of senior BIBs sitting around a table giggling. Sanuk mai?
