TT&T installation service in Pattaya

I’ve just signed a 12 months contract with TT&T for their MAX-net 3GB internet connection only to find they only run a wire and box to the outside of your house and then fck off leaving the rest of the installation to the customer and at 61 years young I can’t see me scurrying around the roof space running a wire to any given position.

I should have known what I was getting myself into when I signed up and they gave me the modem saying I have to ‘set it up’ myself.

Thai’s are not known for complaining but my misses has been on the blower to Bangkok twice now giving them a piece of her mind about their crap service and asked why they charged me one months rental ‘up front’ when the service is not yet ‘up and running’.

She asked the two MAX-net guys if they’d run a wire into the house and I would pay them but their reply was ‘We only do outside’

Locally we can’t find anyone other than your usual ‘I can do it, fly-by-night ‘not much idea types’ who usually borrow your tools then charge an arm and a leg because your a farang for what usually turns out to be a poor job.

I live around the Soi Khaotalo area, does anyone know of someone with the right sort of skills to do the job for me.

I don’t care what it costs providing it’s a proper job.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Go to their office in Carrefore and speak to the girls. I would belive they will take an order and get the internal guys round to do the job.

Usually people like ToT and TT&T have EXTERNAL and INTERNAL installation teams. The "Pole Guys" (External) may not carry the internal cable, which is different.

I believe they had a 1,000 Baht "setup up and check service" option for installing DSL . I did the DIY option and was successful. It was so easy, but my phone socket was by the desk.

I know slightly off topic, but I had bad reception on my cable TV when I moved into this house. I went to Sophon and explained the problem. They took my order, which cost 200 Baht, and the cable guys were round within hours. They ran new cables from the pole right through my house to the TV location.

Thanks for the info grahamhc but what I want is a newly wired ‘independent’ connection point to the side of my computer.

When my misses asked the two TT&T guys to run a wire inside the house they said ‘We do outside only” then when she spoke to the girls in the office at Carrefour they said ‘Have to do inside yourself”

Had they informed us that they can run a wire inside but it’s charged separately then I would have told them to do just that but to date that service has had no mention.

It’s that which prompted my misses to telephone head office in Bangkok to which she is waiting for a reply.

I do have a TOT phone in the house but I want to run a single and separate connection point for TT&T internet use only.
