Has this feature ever worked ?

apparently never worked for me - you have to call them, which is a pain, if they don't asnwer for hours

They seem to update infrequently and then find it perfectly acceptable to backdate the information. This is obviously no good if you are on a visit to Thailand with a set number of days. In our case they didn't update all week, but then updated on the weekend saying they had received it back on the Wednesday or Thursday. This meant we missed going to pick it up while we were both in Bangkok and cost us a return air ticket for my wife from Khon Kaen.
