So if the unmarried father happens to be out of Thailand when the birth of his child is registered at the amphur there is no possibility later to get a legal confirmation of his fatherhood status at the amphur but he has to get that confirmation document from a court. ubonjoe Posted December 27, 2008 Share Posted December 27, 2008 I think that a person should still go to immigration with the birth certificate they have and try to get the extension without going to the amphoe or through the court first. I have seen enough reports that show that not all immigration offfices want this additional step. Bangkok for one does these extensions on a regular bassis.
