Ko Samui No Longer Giving 30 Day Extensions Anymore? I Met A Kid Here Who Told Me This...

Hi

Thanks for reading my question!

I entered on a Thai embassy issued (in the USA) double entry visa and I planned to just get 30 days more in Ko Samui Immigration Office.

But someone told me that he was only to get a 7 day extension.

He said he entered on a default tourist visa.

Is this true?

Did they stop giving 30 day extensions?

Thank you!

It's possible he was referring to getting a 7 day ext. on a 30 day stamp which is

not the same as an actual tourist visa which you have and should get a 30 day ext.

Still, it doesn't hurt to go early, 1-2 weeks even as things are usually in a state of

flux. Thing you do have to be careful of is the expiry of the visa. Depending on when

you applied for it and then the date you entered Thailand you only have a certain

window to get your ext. and then 2nd entry before expiry.Be careful of that. :o

I would assume this means a visa exemption, only ever given 7 days on one of these. I doubt you will have a problem with your real visa :o

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
