Decided to chop off the rear sets as far as I could but still keep a little perch for the GoPro. See pics.

Cost = 250baht including the white inserts which are of course temporary until Kwacker bring out the real thing hehe.

Also getting the back seat covered in white which arrives back tomorrow.

Another advantage of not having a girlfriend, i would have done the exact same thing to my pillion footrests on day one :)

Any one up for a ride out 2mora afternoon?

I'm off to the Motorshow tomorrow, Tony should be going providing it doesn't rain.

All Kawasaki owners will be leaving rama 9 HQ at 13:00 via police escort, there will be free lunch too before everyone heads off.

There's so much going on tomorrow, Kawasaki trip to the motorshow, Bike ride, Moto GP ohh and a BBQ awaits my return :D

Time to wash and polish (again) lube the chain and put the cover over the bike.

Songkran in Pattaya = stay indoors and relax.

Will be out on the 20th for a ride somewhere smile.png

I washed mine last night after a couple of hours slowly cruising around my area of Bangkok yesterday.

The bike was filthy but all that powder washes off with the smallest application of water, round two begins in a hours time, i might nip down to Samut Prakarn :)

  • 2 weeks later...

My front tire is done. And it seems like the The Bridgestone Battlax BT-023 Sport Touring Tire is a good replacement. How much is it here in Thailand?

I have found it for about 100 dollar in US, so I guess about 150-200 dollar when I receive it in Thailand. Where is a good place to order from? Amazon?

However, on more question, is the duty import higher than 37% (30% duty and 7% tax) for motorcycle tires?

might work out cheaper to buy those in chinatown

I ended up buying the The Bridgestone Battlax BT-021 Sport Touring Tire(old model) from Kawasaki in Pattaya for 4555 baht. The newest model is available at Brightstone at sukhumvit soi 33 in Pattaya if someone is interested in getting it. The price was about 6200 baht, and they need to order it for you.

Sick of waiting for any rear grab handle inserts to come onto the market so I decided to see Go at BP Racing on the 2nd road to see what he could do.

He's removed the rear tail fairing thingy so that he can fill in those 4 holes with GRP, the rear undertray (which will be covered with the same carbon I already have on the rest of the black plastic.

The rear seat is also getting covered with GRP then painted in white.

Let's see if it's a good job eh?

He phoned AP Racing the other day and they quoted 31k for rosso tyres and front and rear Z1000 wheels.

So. I will just get a Z1000 rear wheel with a Rosso II tyre like the front I have in storage.

Interesting, can't wait to see what it comes out like :)

There are single seat cowls out on the market already, but it's nice to see some thing unique :)

Bike should be ready 2mora!

They've (once again) done a fantastic job in hiding the 4 holes where the grab handles used to be on the tail fairing.

Is getting painted today, white. tongue.png

Underneath will be carbon the same as ALL the black plastic on the bike. thumbsup.gif

Go is going to lower the forks by 18mm to get better turn-in and add to the 'stealth-look' hehe. whistling.gif

Saving up for a rear 190 50 Rosso II tyre and ZX10/Z1000 rear wheel. clap2.gif

Here are some pics.

Looking good mate, the 190 conversion.... Just be careful, you might end up swapping back to the stock rim size. i know you are aware the turn in will be a little slower but the other factor to consider is how a 190 tyre will warm up on an otherwise underpowered bike for that particular tyre..... Getting the bike back in a couple of hours.

Here's the state so far.

I think (not because it was my idea) that it has turned out well because I 've kept the original rear seat shape

What do you think?

Carbon underneath as well, works well.

Off out for a ride later when it's not CRAZY HOT like it is now hehe. (After I've given her a polish. (the bike :))

One of my little issues was the gap between the tail and seat - now that has been tightened considerably which is cool.

2009 ex-rental with 60k km on bahtsold for 147k thb.

Is that the one at Tonys Big Bikes also in tv small ads?

I rented that very bike last December. Lovely engine despite the number of km's. Gearbox needed a firm foot though but I've ridden others the same.

I'd try and haggle the price down a little as it does need some tidying.

looking sweet mate... looks like the guy done a good job..

Cheers, yeh that's Go washing off my bike in one of the pics.

He's a perfectionist and he knows a hell of a lot when it comes to sorting out bike mods and issues.

I've got a lot of time for the lad.

Ad removed. Guess it's gone already.

I saw it last night and gave it serious thought of calling, then riding straight down and picking it up. Could probably sell it in a week for 180k!

Aeehmmm strolling seems you mixed something up. The Kawa on sale for 120k is a D-Tracker not a Ninja 650......
