I have been using Jack Golf as a Cambodian visa run for 4 years now. And until this morning I have never had a problem. I am in the middle of a double tourist visa obtained from Laos and I only needed a re-entry. They denied me their service telling me that the "Enter before Date" being December 2008 meant that my visa is expired even though it was already stamped for the first entry in September. Meaning obviously that I should be right at the 3 month mark and needing my 2cd entry. I can't even begin to express my disgust in the way that they treated me after I began to argue. I did my best remain civil but their adherence to ignorance became disgustingly intolerable. I just called a friend to drive me to the border and I will do it myself today. I just can't believe their attitude after all the money I have spent over the years.

Really disappointed,

Chuck

If your use before date is expired it means that your 2nd entry is no longer valid. They evidently thought that meant you are on an overstay and did not want you to use their service because of that. As long as your permit to stay is still valid you are not on an overstay.

It seems you will be looking for a different company for your border runs in the future.

To our OP.

What is the 'enter before' date on your visa? (if that has passed your visa is now expired and the second entry is lost)

What is the 'admitted until' date on your last entry stamp? (if that has passed you are on overstay unless you got an extension). If you are on overstay JG won't take you because of possible issues with Cambodia allowing you to enter.

I rarely need to do border runs as I travel a lot anyway, but one one or two occasions the bus people have mis-read my stamps and suggested that I'm on overstay, no problem when their error was pointed out :o

Did you visit immigration to get an extension of that permit to stay?

This is often the catch-22 with a double-entry. You may be given a validity period of only

three months within which you need to utilize both entries. If you delay before entering

Thailand or get a 30 day ext and aren't careful it is possible to "lose" the 2nd entry because

the visa is no longer valid. My humble experience with visa companies is that they have a

few competent staff but often many without really a clue or a care. Here, however they

may have been correct but unable to explain apparently in the English language. :o

chuckgar, I’m afraid your post makes no sense at all.

Look at the double-entry tourist visa in your passport. It has two dates stamped on it. One is the date when the visa was issued; this date is irrelevant at this point. The other is the date before which the visa must be utilised. Please be so kind as to tell us what this date is and the date on which you wanted to do the border run, and then we can tell you if you are justified in being disgusted.

Cali, you hit the nail on the head. dam_n it! This was my mistake. I've been doing this for 4 years and I guess I have been lucky in the past with the "Enter Before" dates and got to the border before then on my 2cd entry. I lost my second entry cause I overstayed and extended at immigration last month. Serves me right I guess. Oh well.....back to Laos I guess.

So more Jack Golf 'bashing' for nothing ..... Before getting my retirement visa, I've seen numerous people turned down early in the morning, because they turned up with 'problems'. I guess they don't to take your money and having a discussion later.

You have watch out for those use by dates they will get you every time.

Since you are a long term user of Jack Golf you could be one of the first to try their new visa run to Phnom Penh for a tourist visa.

If you do please report back and tell us how it went.

Just to redress the balance of the "Let's see if we can bash Jack Golf" posters.

I used JG on 31st december 2008 - first time - to do the Cambodia run from Bkk. It left on time, I was always treated well. there were no problems whatever, and the outfit seems a very capaple organisation. It was great walking past the long queues of non VIP's :-)

Prior to the trip - as a newbie to this sort of thing, I had to email JG about several silly lillte matters (My ignorance). All mails were answered within an hour or so, with the required information.

First class outfit, with informative staff, and seemingly dependable transport. Yes - things will go wrong, but for me 100% - Thank you Jack Golf. I will be with you again.

Happy new year to you all
