I believe an Employer supplying a work permit has to pay at least B50,000 per month, right?

Is there an exception for English Teaching? or does the return flight and medical count in the Total?

Some ET jobs advertise 30,000 per month.

Do you pay Income Tax in Thailand, your home country, or both, when working in Thailand?

I have met folks who taught in Asia and they mailed cash home to avoid taxes.

------

Do any Thais working over seas pay taxes back in Thailand and/or for money sent back?

---

Here's a tricky one.

If my Thai wife, permanent resident in Canada, did some part time Content Writing for a Thai Company, from her pc in Canada; If the pay was put in her Thai bank account, could she pay Income tax in Thailand, even though she works and pays taxes in Canada?

Would Thailand have any problem with this arrangement?

Would this violate any Thai or/and Canadian tax laws?

---

If you give the account number and transit of a Thai bank account for payment deposits from a Company, not the PIN or details like that; could there be some type of scam? We can make sure the Account has nil funds in it.

Most of you tax questions can be answered in the business forum.

People often have to give their account numbers to companies for them to do transfers. You just have to depend upon the integrity of the company you are dealing with.

1) question 1 Wrong - the THB 50,000/m is to get the extension of stay and the THB 50,000 payable or not depends on your nationality.

2) Again depends which nationality you are talking about...I work in Thailand and only pay Thai tax...US citizens for example have to submit a tax return where ever they are in the world, depends on what your countries tax laws say and if there is a reciprocal tax agreement in place

3) No idea...but would guess they are not, and they would certainly be paying taxes in the countries they are working in..

4) Yes she should be paying tax in monies earned in Thailand, all boils down to whether the Thai employer takes the tax off her at source....the basic principle she has to be paying tax on the money somewhere, whether Thailand or Canada, If she paid tax in either location she would not be violating any laws, if she didnt pay any tax, then would be breaking the law in one or both countries..

5) Dont fully understand your question...if you give someone your bank account details for a deposit, they cant get into your account, they can only deposit funds
