ashaa Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 (edited) Hello, I would love to find a good, reputable cosmetic surgeon to work on my face and eyes. A friend mentioned that there are very highly trained doctors who work in Thailand at a hugely discounted rate. I've also heard that the follow-up care in Thailand had quite high standards and some facilities were quite luxurious. I'd love to have a discussion with anyone who is actually experienced cosmetic surgery in Thailand and any good/bad reports they can share. I've also heard conflicting stories by a US -based cosmetic surgery referral service, who said that if something goes wrong in Thailand, these doctors usually do not take care of any complications. Is this true? What are the rates in recent years and what quality... conditions and services have people had? Also if there is a thread on this topic that already exists in your archives, please point me to that. Thank you, Ashaa Edited December 27, 2008 by ashaa
Sheryl Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Ashaa, There have been many. many threads on this over the year (some specific to facelift and some more general on plastic surgery), you can use the search function to find and read them. For facelift the doctor most widely recommended -- and who did mine about 3 years back -- is Dr. Amorn Poomee at Bumrungrad. He is board certified in US and Canada and practiced there for many years before rturining to Thailand. Conservative in approach and produces a very natural looking effect. I am very happy with the resukts and so have many other TV members been. Downside is that he costs slightly more than other docs at the same hosp (entire package, all inclusive used to be around 175,000 baht but may have gone up a bit -- so basically, around $5,000 - $6,000) and tends to be fully booked far in advance (3-6 month wait being common) which can be a real disadvantage for peopkle coming from aborad and wanting to schedule within a short time period. Although I think it is possible, if you attach photos, to get onto his schedule in advance of your arrival. Dr. Preecha at Bangkok Nursing Home Hospital is also very eminent and well regarded. For which reason, probably also need to book far in advance with him. One member has given a favorable report on a Dr. Charan at Bumrungrad. Many Thais patronize Yanhee Hospital, which tends to cost less. Although I have seen posts from people happy with results of plastic surgery at Yanhee I dio not recall a specific doctor name. Good luck

Good luck Bumrungrad certainly is recommended - heard they hv done microbial decontamination cleansing in most of their surgery wards - hence keeping out zee unwanted elements which cannot be seen by our naked eyes - all USA medical authority certified - a little more but safer...Its CEO - Mack Banner - am sure can furnish recommended doctors for any purpose --- [email protected] ( American) Good luck -hope u look like Elizabeth Taylor !
